You don't induce a medical coma for dehydration, though watching that footage, I suppose it could be due to head trauma caused by the fall rather than whatever made him pass out. You're not supposed to fall like that and it would be impossible to fall like that if you were conscious and able to move your arms. That was so upsetting.

As a Gator fan and just as a human being, I'm really pulling for Keyontae Johnson. I can't bring myself to watch the footage, but it sounds somewhat similar to what happened with Jay Bouwmeester of the St. Louis Blues this year, when he suddenly collapsed and went totally lifeless on the bench. That was a cardiac event, so may not be the same medical issue, but the way he just went lifeless and the way his teammates were so shook up by it is pretty similar.

#5 Kansas survives a nail biter and edges #14 Texas Tech in Lubbock 58-57 to win the Big XII opener.

BYU rolls SDSU on the road. Looking forward to the highlight package here.

Rolls? That's a bit of a stretch, but they did beat SDSU, that part is accurate.

Most teams are going to lose some games. No one goes undefeated in college basketball anymore.

Louisville is so undermanned today that I hoped they'd stay within 20 against Wisconsin.

I'm now hoping they stay within 40. The Badgers are putting on a clinic.

Zags are so so good. I feel so robbed that we didn't get that Baylor game. Man they are scheduling a killer non-conference schedule.
It's been 30 years since a non-power six school won the championship (UNLV). It may be time.

Wow, so apparently Stanford cannot play at Maples Pavilion because of COVID restrictions. So tonight they had to play Arizona in a fucking gym at Santa Cruz. I think it's also where the Golden State Warriors G League team plays.

Holy shit l, Kansas got DESTROYED by Texas in the second half today. Glad I didn't watch it. Maybe we should take that self imposed one year post season ban now? Kansas has the longest active NCAA Tournament streak in the history at 30 seasons. Would have been 31 if not for the pandemic, and it will be bookended on both sides by NCAA discipline actions.

It was previously rumored, but it looks like all of March Madness will be staged in Indy.

Whoah that Texas/Texas Tech game was bonkers - way to go Mac McClung for the 79/77 win over Texas

Sounds like COVID-19 reared its ugly head and not only got the Georgetown / DePaul game cancelled but possibly the next two games (!!)

March Madness details:
NCAA announces March Madness preliminary round dates | NCAA.com

Trying to deconstruct this.

Play-in games: Thursday March 18

1st round: March 19/20 (Fri/Sat)
2nd round: March 21/22 (Sun/Mon)

S16 (Pacers arena and Hinkle): March 27/28 (Sat/Sun) - all standalone games.

E8 (at Lucas Oil): March 29/30 (Mon/Tue) - all in primetime

F4 as usual in Indy (Lucas Oil).

Larry Scott is finally out as the PAC-12 commissioner. And good he was the worst commissioner ever and massively overpaid.

Took raises and bonuses after he laid off and furloughed employees. I worked freelance for the PAC-12 for 7 years and no one likes him.

Re: Official 2020-2021 NCAA Basketball (Semi-) Regular Season Thread

He got very rich from a conference, which has struggled financially recently. He signed a lot of stupid TV deals that hindered PAC 12 network from growing. Even now 9 seasons in, hardly anyone carries the network.

Heres another excerpt about him.

Pac 12 hoops teams have done little to nothing in the NCAA lately. I know most of you here have no West coast ties, so this conference means nothing to you. But I’m glad he will be gone soon.

I’m surprised it took that long
Over the last decade or so they’ve been worst of the power 5 conferences in the major sports.

Geez is Kansas bad this year. They are trailing at the half at home to TCU by the score of 19-18.
Take your sanctions now Kansas.

I've watched little hoops this year, but he was awesome today, at least in the last minute.

Down to 3 unbeatens in this crazy year. Yet, The Drake is somehow unranked. They survived today in OT. Actually, their first loss ATS.

I can't imagine the Zags losing in the WCC.

If Baylor can manage to get to March undefeated, that would be an achievement in itself.

Re: Official 2020-2021 NCAA Basketball (Semi-) Regular Season Thread

This is certainly a weird year. Duke, Kentucky, Carolina, Kansas all struggling. If March madness does happen I think flipping a coin on my bracket will work out as well as spending several hours on my picks.
