Basically, everybody in the Western Conference NOT in California is better than everybody in the Western Conference IN California. I'm perfectly okay with this. Frankly, I'd rather the playoffs were cut-off at ten teams rather than twelve, but at least we'll all get to enjoy watching Chicago get eliminated.

Watched 3 AFL games over the weekend. Was interesting that one of the games had fans in the seats (albeit with separation and there definitely weren't a ton of people there) and the other two were completely empty. The league also shortened the lengths of the games. Typical games have 20 minute quarters but the league reduced them to 16 per quarter.

Did the league say what would happen with players who test positive? Two weeks off (at least) and an ability to sign more players? But what happens if it's an outbreak on one or more teams, forfeiting?

Positive tests in the NFL are going to happen. Texas after all is one of the hardest hit states.

But, Zeke is apparently asymptomatic. He's a young and healthy guy. After a few weeks, the virus will burn through his system.

Funny thing to mention. Andrew Siciliano, the host of NFL Red Zone and NFL Network, posted a tweet saying people need to wear their masks.

I read some of the comments. Many people told Andrew to fuck off.

Some people really hate being told what to do.

If this wasn't the case, I would think some players would proactively contract the virus early, so they don't get it during the playoffs (or some other crucial time). But because it's a lottery and some of the outcomes are lung transplants or death, hopefully that doesn't happen.

On a side note, I still can't believe we don't have conclusive evidence whether someone can be reinfected.

Of 28 positive coronavirus tests conducted on Clemson student-athletes and staff since their return to campus two weeks ago, 23 belong to football players, a source said Friday.

The school announced its total number of 315 tests and 28 positives in a statement Friday following a second round of tests but did not break the number down by sport. The source at the school said that at this week's latest round of tests, 21 football players tested positive, as did two members of the football staff, which is not limited to coaches.



Last week, the school said two other football players, as well as a men's basketball player, tested positive during the school's initial run of 169 tests.

The state of South Carolina on Friday reported its highest number of total positive tests -- 1,081 people -- and highest percentage of positive tests to date. The rate of positive tests at Clemson this month is nearly double the national average.

The initial 169 tests were done upon the return to campus for student-athletes and staff from football and basketball. This week's round of tests included more athletes as soccer and volleyball players returned to campus, along with secondary testing based on those who showed symptoms and people with whom they'd been in contact.

According to the school, the majority of those testing positive were asymptomatic, and no one has thus far required hospitalization.

Each member of the program who tested positive was notified by the school and will be isolated for at least 10 days. Anyone in contact with them will be self-quarantined for at least 14 days, in concurrence with Clemson's guidelines.

Yeah, I hate to be a downer, but I have a hard time believing the major sports (pro and college) are coming back this year. I really really hope I'm wrong, but it's hard to see it happening at this point.

That's where I am as well. Want sports but it looks like COVID-19 just won't let that happen. Too many wrenches in the machinery. Too many simultaneous fires to put out.
