No joke. Did I understand correctly that if the Niners win, nobody would win this survivor pool? No remaining player has the Niners in the SB right?

Maybe some leagues are that way, but Iím just going by this:

In the event that we have multiple winners *or* everybody gets eliminated during the same weekend, the winner will be the person who guesses closest to the total # of points scored in their game. If no point guess is included with your pick, you will be assigned a guess of ZERO.

Re: DVDTalk 2019 NFL Playoff Survivor Pool (17th Annual)

Because everybody ended up selecting the same team to win, the result of the game won't matter. Either everybody gets it right, and we'll have to use points to break the tie, or everybody gets it wrong, and we'll have to use points to break the tie.

There will be a pool winner. It will be one of these five, who will all finish tied regardless of the result of the game. Their order of finish will be based on points, which we'll use to break the tie.

Re: DVDTalk 2019 NFL Playoff Survivor Pool (17th Annual)

Well, improved my W/L record, but fell short.

Titans beating ravens really threw me. The only chance I had to win was if the titans beat the Chiefs, which I originally picked.. but decided to take the sure thing this week and see where the pieces fell for the sb. Unfortunately for me, no pieces remained. Lol.

Thanks again for running the game. One of my favorites.

We've got four picks in now, needing only lwhy? to link in so we can reveal the Super Bowl spread table.

Not to beat a dead horse, but the thread is waiting for lwhy? to submit his tiebreaker pick. Then we can all just sit back and enjoy the Superb Owl.

Re: DVDTalk 2019 NFL Playoff Survivor Pool (17th Annual)

Okay, the picks are in. In order, they were:

58 (UP) Dr Evil
62 rabbit77
54 Decker
60 (UP) Cardsfan111
60 (UP) lwhy?

RankPlayerWild CardDivisionalConferenceSuper BowlPointsActualDiff
-Dr EvilTennesseeGreen BaySan FranciscoKansas City58--
- rabbit77SeattleGreen BaySan FranciscoKansas City62--
-DeckerSeattleGreen BaySan FranciscoKansas City54--
-Cardsfan111SeattleGreen BaySan FranciscoKansas City60--
-lwhy?HoustonGreen BaySan FranciscoKansas City61--

Since lwhy picked an already-chosen tiebreaker, their pick was moved UP (per their instruction) to 61 to make it unique. Given these choices, the spread table for tomorrow's game is:

0-55 Decker
56-59 Dr Evil
60-60 Cardsfan111
61-61 lwhy?
62-up rabbit77

56 goes to Dr Evil for having submitted his pick (58) earlier than Decker (54)
59 goes to Dr Evil for having submitted his pick (58) earlier than Cardsfan111 (60)

Alas, your fate was sealed as Dr Evil [58] and rabbit77 [62] had you bracketed before your pick came in. lwhy? dogpiling (60) didn't help, but it didn't hurt either. Who knows, you might pull it off. Good luck tonight.

Nerd alert. Technically, this should read 2-55, as even a forfeit would officially get a 2-0 score. Although if both teams forfeited or the game was otherwise cancelled I guess 0 might apply.

Re: DVDTalk 2019 NFL Playoff Survivor Pool (17th Annual)

Chiefs just scored to take the lead, 24-20, with 2+ minutes left. I've been monitoring the combos, and though it looks very likely that the under is going to hit for Decker, there's a scenario still for 60-point Cardsfan111:

1. SFF hustles downfield to get a go-ahead TD
2. KCC storms back to kick a tying FG and force OT 27-27
3. Somebody scores a walk-off TD to win 33-27.

Meanwhile, the same scenario with an OT FG gives Dr Evil the win. Or if they trade TDs and KCC wins 31-27 it's still Dr Evil.

I like it!

Edit: Need a new scenario.
