USF is still in search of a new coach. I don't think whoever they hire will make a difference until they change their recruiting practices. Being the 5th choice of schools for Florida High School recruits isn't working. They need to target other areas of the country to get better players.

South Florida finalizing deal with Clemson's Jeff Scott. I'm surprised he's leaving Clemson.

You are surprised that a co-offensive coordinator is taking a Head Coaching job?

Yes, I am surprised that an co-offensive coordinator at a school which has won 2 out of the last 3 National Championships and possibly another this year would leave that kind of program. With Clemson's marshmallow soft schedule, they are almost always going to be a lock to make the playoffs.

He wants to be a head coach, it's simple. He will cut his teeth as a head coach at a crap program like USF and move on to a bigger program just like Willie Taggart did. At that point he will be known as a head coach, not an offensive coordinator.

CBS out / ESPN/ABC likely in for SEC TV rights after 2023:
https://www.sportsbusinessdaily.com/...19/12/SEC.aspx

CBS has gotten tremendous value out of their deal. Currently paying $55M for about 15 or so games. Went almost 6x times for the next deal and the SEC passed.

UW Huskies QB Jacob Eason declares. Former top recruit who lost his job at Georgia after getting hurt and then transferred to his hometown school. His season was up and down, but with the time already lost to injury and transfer, I figured he’d declare if he thought he’d get into the first round.

Tua Tagovailoa leaving Alabama to enter NFL draft.

https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/...nter-nfl-draft

He's had so many injuries at Alabama, I would be very cautious to spend a pick in the first round for him.

Re: college football offseason 2019-2020

San Diego State Head Coach Rocky Long has retired as HC.

Promoted to Head Coach is former Ball State, San Diego State, and Michigan Head Coach Brady Hoke. Hoke had been the team's very successful Defensive Line coach this last season.

There remains a small possibility that Rocky would continue as the team's Defensive Coordinator, a position he held during Brady Hoke's first tenure with the Aztecs.

The guy can coach, and kudos to him for sticking around Pullman for eight years, but Im glad to have the Trump-loving whiner off my radar.

Re: college football offseason 2019-2020

It's being reported that Michigan State has hired Colorado's Mel Tucker to replace Mark Dantonio. Tucker publicly turned down the job and expressed his desire to remain at Colorado just last week, but MSU apparently came with the big bucks after being spurned by Luke Fickell, reportedly more than doubling Tucker's 2.675 Million dollar salary.

23 Clemson football players test positive for coronavirus.

https://www.cnn.com/2020/06/19/us/cl...rnd/index.html

It doesn't sound good for the 2020 season if teams are already having a large number of players testing positive for the virus.

Do the college football teams have health coverage for players even though these aren't football injuries?

Kansas State had 14 players test positive and is suspending workouts for two weeks. Things are off to bad start and I fear its going to keep growing. My confidence well get football this fall is not very high.
