Re: The 2019 College Football Regular Season Thread.

Is it me but outside of LSU vs Alabama has there been any big games worth watching this season?

Maybe it is becoming like boxing where the best teams avoid playing each other.

None of the Saturday ABC game of the week matchups look that existing and most of them are probably mismatches.

That Penn State - OSU game looks worth watching but it's at 9 AM PT stupidly.

It's great to see the bastard didn't get any time reduced. They should have added more time for wasting time and money on this hearing.

If it makes you feel better, and the other western folks sleeping, it's not worth it. Total domination by OSU.

They are playing for #1 - good incentive - to avoid Clemson in the semis.

Kiss of death.

PSU scores and then OSU fumbles.

But I say better now than at 11p or so.

ASU takes Oregon out of the Playoffs.

Also UNLV has played their final game at Sam Boyd Stadium. Won't miss that dump at all. Next year I guess they become the only current FBS team to play their home games in an NFL stadium.

I told you guys...Alabama has played - and lost to - exactly one ranked team all season and now they are a home game vs three loss Auburn from locking up a playoff spot and getting an extra week off.

Things are definitely falling into place for them.

Gotta give props to Herm. I thought ASU was going to be a trainwreck under him.

Donít you think a one loss Oklahoma team jumps the Tide once they win their conference championship?

Who knows. The committee loves Bama. Take the name off with their resume so far and no way they would be 5 now.

I think UGA beating LSU in the SEC is Bama's greatest threat.

Oregon fell to 13th in the Coaches' poll, 14th in the AP.

If both one loss Utah and Oklahoma win out, who do you think makes it to the CFP? Utah is one spot up right now
Or is it Alabama again?

Exactly. They haven't done anything to justify being #5 so why should anyone expect that what happens going forward would matter? (other than losing to Auburn)

JMO, but if Bama beats Auburn, I don't see the committee moving Utah or the Sooners ahead of them.

Re: The 2019 College Football Regular Season Thread.

And keep in mind....historically, the committee has cover since they have never put a team with more losses than one with less. So they can rely on that re: Bama.

But I am really interested in seeing the 1/2 ranking because that is huge. You want to avoid Clemson. PSU+MICH+Wisky/Minn should vault OSU over LSU (beating UGA if they do it). .

If we are doing eye test, I think LSU is so shaky on D. OSU is the best team.

There is the precedent of Ohio State moving ahead of TCU after tOSU won the B1G Championship game while the Big XII didn't have a Championship game. Here you would have a one loss team with no appearance in a Championship game being picked (at least hypothetically) over one (or two) Conference Champions with only one loss. That would be a really bad look if it were to happen.

But look at who they moved ahead of.....TCU (and Baylor was the other option). It's all about the name. The committee is no different than AP pollsters.

Re: The 2019 College Football Regular Season Thread.

Baylor moves up 5 spots after beating a mediocre Texas team at home. OU moved up 1 spot after winning at Baylor last week. No rhyme or reason to this. I guess that's still good news for OU though.

At least they got the OSU/LSU thing right. And should stay that way if OSU wins the next 2 weeks.

So if Minnesota beats Wisconsin and then takes the Big 10 Championship are they in the playoffs?

Pretty sure. Might depend on how everything else plays out. But there would be at least two teams with losses in the playoff, and a one loss Gophers with three solid wins late in the season would be hard to keep out. But upsetting Wisconsin will be hard enough, Ohio State at a neutral site would be a big favorite.
