That's the dumbest map I have ever seen. SDSU gets 20 times the acreage as tOSU and Louisville why exactly? Because all the other unbeatens are East of the Mississippi?
Seriously, it's just a map showing the closest unbeaten teams by county. The map was a lot more fragmented before when there were several more unbeaten teams. But since there are no other unbeaten teams in the West, SDSU gets those counties on the map due to proximity. It's just meant for fun, nothing serious. And SDSU has a really good team this year, so it IS fun! :D |

No surprise at all re: Maryland. They were underdogs. So predictable given that it was it their first road game and how they keep crapping the bed out of the gate. Hard to win when you're down 10 on the road at half and then can't hit a shot in the last 5-6 minutes. And they always seem to have trouble there. rotfl at the "overrated" chant near the end (which alone is stupid) but then the idiot students storm the court. Idiotic football fan-base. Add basketball to that too. |
Re: 2019-2020 NCAA Men's Basketball Regular Season Thread
The "Overrated " chant (that Kansas hears all the time ) is beyond stupid. It's basically saying 'If we can beat you you're not that good'. So dumb. But it is four syllables long which makes it easy to chant.

Ironically, they are likely correct in that Maryland is overrated. 8 of their 10 wins are against Q3/Q4. Illinois is their best win and they were behind the whole game in that one.

Speaking of ironic, it just occurred to me that Chris Beard is the second-best coach in the history of UNLV Basketball, and he never coached a game there.

God it's weird seeing Auburn in that map but I love it.

Congratulations to the Ohio State Buckeyes on their recent acquisition of a massive amount of land in the Midwest.

Nice win for the Shockers over OU. Props to OU for playing the roadie.
Why KU and Wichita never play, I have no idea. Oh, I know because Bill Self is a lame ass.. |

Honestly, I am MUCH happier about renewing the rivalry with Mizzou, a school I LOATHE and would love to see them destroy. RD, I get that you're a big proponent of the mid-Majors but I tend to agree with Self here. It's not like Kansas is ducking anyone -- they opened against Duke at a neutral site, played in the Maui Invitational (should have matched up with Michigan State in the Final had they not lost early, their next game is at Nova, and then they will play at Stanford the next game. They also host Tennessee a little later this year. He has no interest in giving Wichita State that sort of credibility while they both compete for the same kids. I get that, and don't really mind it. |

I watched the OT of Ore-Mich. Wolverines certainly had their chances.

Props to Roy for playing in the Kennel (as part of a home and home). You won't see the other Blue Blood coaches do that.
Though, looks like a pounding coming tonight. Bet up from 10.5 to 14. Have to imagine that UNC hasn't been this big of a dog since the Doherty years. |
Re: 2019-2020 NCAA Men's Basketball Regular Season Thread
Wow, four game losing streak for UNC. That has to be rough for them, worse with Anthony out for a while
James Wiseman has gotten fed up with the NCAA bullshit and is leaving Memphis in order to get ready for the Draft. That is college basketball's loss and I see very little positive gained from their strict enforcement policy. |

James Wiseman leaves Memphis, to enter NBA draft.
