Sucks the Raiders game is opposite the Niners game at 10am.
Raiders @ Packers should be a late game on CBS with only 3 games in the 1pm window.

I like KCC chances of wining a close one even though Mahomes is hurt but playing.
but traveling on a short week sucks.
Denver beat two crappy teams.
But the Chiefs are going have improve their D soon if they want to make a super bowl run.
.Tannehill to start for the titans .blah
should all be good games
Minnesota at Detroit-
Oakland at Green Bay- Raiders have surprise me this year, but hard to win in GB.
Houston at Indianapolis
Baltimore at Seattle
Philadelphia at Dallas
New England at NY Jets. Go Jets
second week in a row.
At least no London game this week.

Re: 2019 NFL Regular Season Thread -- Week 7
From Kyle Shanahan's presser yesterday....
What was the best part of working in Washington?
Shanahan: “Being able to work with my dad & be around some other good coaches.”
What was the worst part?
Shanahan: “Everything else.”
Yeah, that pretty much sums up everything wrong with Snyder/Allen/Redskins.

As a Lions fan, I feel bad for Redskins fans... that should never be the case.

As an east coast transplant, and a person who enjoys sleeping in on the weekends, it took me a while to get used to having to wake up for football. I was used to sleeping in, going out for a late brunch, reading the Sunday paper, then settling in for football.

Re: 2019 NFL Regular Season Thread -- Week 7
I could use a little help from the gamblers in the group... I play in a game called Cover5 where you pick 5 games against the spread. You then get points based on how well they do relative to the spread. For example, GB is favored by 6 over OAK. If I pick GB and they win by 10, I get 4 points. If they lose by 5, I lose 11 points. If I pick OAK and they lose by 1, I get 5 points, etc. You are basically blowout/upset hunting. Anyway, I have completely lost my way the past few weeks, so I'm looking for help instead of trusting my gut. I won the whole thing last year, so it's killing me to be doing so poorly. Anyway, here is what I have currently (pick in bold):
KC (-3.5) @ DEN
LAR (-3) @ ATL
JAC (-3.5) @ CIN
SF (-10) @ WAS
NE (-10) @ NYJ
I'm counting on KC and Rams rebounding, Bengals and Skins being themselves. I also think the Jets can keep it close, if not upset, Pats. Like I said though, I've been terrible with my picks the past few weeks and I can certainly see a couple of those going the wrong way...

I am not so sure KC @ Den is going to be a blowout. KC have lost two consecutive games at home with opponents continuously run the ball on them and dominated time of possession. Part of that is due to the Chiefs' subpar defense, the other is they have fair amount of injuries on both sides of the ball, including Mahomes who is not 100%. Could they still go into Miles High and beat Denver at home? Sure. Just not sure the Chiefs will blow them out of the water even if they win, when there is just as likely a chance they lose another close game on the road.

If there are no restrictions on the teams you can pick, wouldn't you be better off picking against the dregs of the NFL like the Dolphins (-138 point differential) or Bengals (-62) ? Maybe not every single week, but these teams will be lucky to win even 1 or 2 games this season, including getting blown out in a fair number of those contests?

Don't bet on or against the Jets. Trust me on this. Monday, they'll either lose in a 1-point heartbreaker, or get rolled by 40 points. There is no in-between.
Also, I once recalled a professional gambler saying the safest bet in all of professional sports is the home team on Monday night. They cover at a significantly higher rate than any other typical bet.

Re: 2019 NFL Regular Season Thread -- Week 7
Underdogs are 62% ATS this year. That's pretty remarkable and basically shows that HFA isn't worth much anymore (as Away teams are covering at basically the same clip.
Texans, Rams, Seahawks, 49ers, Bills, Packers, Panthers, Cardinals and Colts have combined to go 23-0-1 ATS on the road.
Definitely like the Niners. Shanny should run up the score. Only hesitation is that I expect heavy action by the public on SF. Never a good sign.
That pool/contest format is pretty cool though. A combination of ATS and a Confidence pool.

Yes. It's entirely possible they could cover due to the Monday night/home team strategy. BUT, they're a very inconsistent team. They play well when you don't expect them to, they phone it in on games they should win or at least be competitive. As a bettor, they're not a team you should wager on, either for or against.
