Glad to have football back, but that game was pretty boring.
Of course, I was expecting it - as I usually find the Bears to be a boring team.

Because a slow start is still a better option than losing your QB for the entire season.

Tyreek Hill gets 3 yr $54 million extension. Apparently threatening people pays....

AB reportedly told Mayock he was a cracker during that fight.

I wonder how quickly that will get swept under the rug?

He apparently apologized at practice and had team captains with him. It is amazing how talent trumps crazy in the NFL.

Yep. And now reports saying he may not get suspended AND play this week.

Speaking of which, Tyreek Hill gets 3 yr/$54M extension from the Chiefs now that he's got the clear from the League office.

Raiders' Antonio Brown could play Monday vs. Broncos - NFL.com

Ian Rapoport says that AB could play on Monday after all.

Looks like AB apologized to his teammates for being a distraction.

Just shows how much power Gruden has. No way Mayock was cool with this decision.

They can just as easily get hurt in the first week of the regular season(Tom Brady comes to mind).

Uh, didn't Gruden hire Mayock? It's not like this is some manifestation of a secret power struggle, it's been quite clear that Gruden is the one in charge.

The guy who you still owe $90M to is going to be the final voice.

Right. Although we'll see if Gruden's tune changes when he starts disrupting stuff on the field and in the locker room, like he did with the Steelers.

Re: 2019 NFL Regular Season Thread -- Week 1

There is probably a WR wide open 50 yards down the field and Trubisky tries to run for a first down

It really doesn't seem like he progresses through all his reads. It's either first read (and hopefully he doesn't throw over their head) or scramble. I mean I'm exaggerating a little but he did leave a bunch of receivers open, including Montgomery several times down the middle of the field.

Re: 2019 NFL Regular Season Thread -- Week 1

I could actually see the coaches okaying that one, IF he showed it to them prior.

Getting really tired of hearing about him, hopefully we get some real talking points out of the games on Sunday to push this down a bit.

I'm welcoming the constant Mahomes hype machine drool from last year at this point.

That was strange and totally unprofessional yet at the same time REALLY well made. Could have been a Nike commercial.

Second best thing about the Thursday game (after the Pack win ) was that he was bumped down to the second 15 minutes of every NFL show...for a couple of hours. It has definitely become an immediate fast-forward the moment his name is brought up. Wake me up if the Raiders cut him. Otherwise I don't care what the fool says or does until kickoff Monday night.

Disgusting before is always rewarded in the NFL. They will eventually cannibalize themselves to the point where the League will lockdown.
