Confirmed now Rapinoe out with a hammy problem

Agreed and I can say one thing Rapinoe would not have been there for that header, no way.

What I don't like is too many long balls from the US vs flank play. They have been tearing people up on the wings lately but today we seem to be looking for long down the middle (truthfully that is all I have seen from England as well other than the goal they score - terrible defending from Abby on that one and O'Hara has to close Mead down and play tight so she cannot get that cross off).

Also I thought Lavelle was terrible vs France but today she is playing like she did if earlier in the tournament. US doesn't look as sharp with their passing and the D looks tired from that France game to be honest. The MF seems solid so far. I love Heath's technical ability but she has to pass the ball off sometimes instead of trying to beat everyone off the dribble.

Pretty sure England was offside before the penalty. Not sure why they didn't check.

White not taking the penalty is as baffling as Sinclair not taking Canada's penalty.

Wow crazy ass second half.

VAR - man oh man.

White was offside - very very close but off. The PK was not a PK but thank god for the save. Still don't care for Naher - sorry to say it but she is just ok in goal. I am no Solo fan at all but Solo is better by a wide margin.

Alex Morgan's tea sipping shade was the highlight of that game.

Yes, both were correct but only after VAR review of both having been originally ruled incorrectly during the run of play. So everyone who complains about VAR can suck on that.

Re: FIFA Women's World Cup 2019 (France).

People who complain about VAR do it for a reason, it's been terribly inconsistent. That said, yeah, both VAR calls in that game were correct. White was offside, and the penalty call was correct.

Re: FIFA Women's World Cup 2019 (France).

This Sweden/Netherlands game is terrible. Fouls are every 2 seconds, sloppy possession by both teams and just poor play all around.

I am sure Sweden will win this but if Netherlands manages to pull it out US wins in the Final 5-1 (the 1 being a defensive nap moment right between the center backs again).

When Sweden wins the Final will be a foul laden physical bunker battle from Sweden. Will have to see if the US figures it out and scores. It will definitely be an ugly game.

Re: FIFA Women's World Cup 2019 (France).

European teams have lost only 5 matches of 32 played against non-European opponents, and 4 of the 5 were to the USA (plus Japan over Scotland). And after Sunday they will likely end up 24-6-3, with 5 of the 6 losses to a single team. Crazy.

Amazing save by the SWE goalie - got just barely enough of a hand on it to force it to the crossbar.

Re: FIFA Women's World Cup 2019 (France).

Let these 2 teams beat the hell out of each other for another 30 mins, fine with me. I know Sweden loves the ugly physical battles but at some point it has to take toll on you. This has had a few good moments but overall it has been a sloppy mess
