That was a great game between Orlando and Toronto. I always felt that DJ Augustin has been such an underrated player.

By the way, I still don't understand why Chauncey Billups was chosen by ESPN as a color commentator. Not only is he horrible, but today he sounded like he took 10 zanax before going to work.

Let's hope that the Raptors and Lowry can get it together for game 2.

3 upsets yesterday, although the Spurs/Nuggets one wasn't that much of a surprise. Got a feeling we'll see more of this today.

Re: 2019 NBA Playoffs Thread

The Nuggets should have won that game easily they just shot terribly. They got all the shots they wanted they just didn't go in. The other two upsets on the other hand the higher seeded team was out played. I watched all 4 games and they were all good games.

The NBA will poop their pants if Orlando and Brooklyn advance to the second round.

It will be interesting too see the tv ratings(first round and beyond).

I'll support Portland.I live part time up in Oregon. they will be a disappointment again?

also live close to the warriors.blah
Not a big fan of them, but only reason i hope they win it all,is to get more titles and not a fan of LAL and bron.
Not sure about the east, would not mind a east teaming winning it all .

Wow. That was some comeback by the Clips.

73-50 at the half. 93-63 in the third. Even with Lou I didn't think they could score so many points.

I saw the highlights and impressive comeback by the Clippers from 31 points down to win last night. Lou Williams is just amazing. Probably one of the most underrated players in the NBA.

But, being that it's 2 California teams and it's the Clips, most in this forum probably don't give a crap about either team.

The probable outcome of this is that Golden State wakes up from their slumber, and that Boogie is out for the rest of the playoffs (which I put in the offseason thread) which doesn't change their trajectory much (they may be more efficient without him) but really sucks for him, since he was basically playing for his next contract (and a championship). This was his first time in the playoffs too.

Lakers fans have to be enjoying the Blazers running over Westbrook and Playoff P though. Let's see if they can close it out.

Re: 2019 NBA Playoffs Thread

Lillard with the buzzer beater. The guy has been amazing all season and into the playoffs. Conventional wisdom would have you believe that Russel Westbrook plus fringe MVP candidate playoff P would be enough to get out of the first round, especially against a team that lost its double-double starting center right before the playoffs and replaced him with a guy the Knicks didn't even want to play, no matter what the seeding.

Oh and Kanter is hurt.

I will admit that the Blazers are surprising me, Lillard is a beast.

Yeah, he's like a top 5, top 7 player in the league and I admit I never saw that one coming.

He was first team all nba last year (over Westbrook, with Curry slipping to third team), but the sweep in the playoffs to the lower seeded, Boogie-less Pelicans had everyone off the bandwagon again. Because of lack of superstar power, both they and the Nuggets were looked at as frauds in the standings compared to OKC and Houston, who finished below them, especially after the injury to Nurkic. But Lillard and McCollum outplayed Westbrook and Playoff P. I thought they would win but I didn't think they would lose only one game to OKC.

It's easy to forget but the year they lost Aldridge to free agency, they won their first round game against Houston with a buzzer beater by Lillard. Meanwhile, Russ hasn't gotten out of the first round since they lost Durant.

It’s great to see the Thunder get booted from the playoffs again, and hearing the former Sonics announcer Kevin Calabro call the winning shot is the icing on the cake.

They need to move Westbrook off point guard. He should be playing shooting guard. He may be the NBA's most athletic player, but he's also the league's most overrated player. You just can't be a great player missing that many shots.

I didn't realize Charles Barkley posted here. That's exactly what he said yesterday. Like moving him to off guard "officially" will make him shoot less.

If you're a Thunder fan, your only hope is that this is a wake up call to him and he starts playing to win instead of chasing stats and trying to do everything himself. They were up big in the fourth yesterday, and at times his decision making was impeccable. If Roberson comes back as a defensive force, Paul George heals up and they somehow add someone else besides playoff P that can hit a three pointer, there's no reason they can't be better.

I don't think he was chasing stats, I think he was playing to win. His mistake is that he thinks trying to do everything himself is the best way to make that happen.
