Maybe he relied on his smarts more than his athletic skills to become a good QB.

So since their first SB, the second most SB appearances by a QB (currently playing or retired) is Roethlisberger and Peyton Manning tied with 3. This is Brady's 9th. That's insane.
Now they need to play the Panthers in Super Bowl 54 or 55 so they can play all the same teams they beat in the early part of the 21st century.

Amazing when you go right from Aikman in one game to Romo in the next. Total night and day.

Aikman has basically gotten to the Phil Simms level of bad.

This is so dumb. It's never happening. It isn't the first blown call and won't be the last.

Reports I'm seeing suggest that CBS is offering Romo a HUGE raise to stay on with them. Probably worried he may go the coaching route.

Luckily, there's no cap on coaches salaries and if JJ wants Romo...

I think he'd be crazy to accept a coaching job. Risk getting fired at the whim of the owner versus a secure position being everyone's favorite commentator.

Exactly. It was my understanding that he was already making multi-millions as an analyst, so if he's getting a huge raise, then he'll probably be making as much as many head coaches do. For far less work - basically 3 days a week for less than half a year (maybe a little more if he wants to do golf commentary for CBS). And zero stress.

I agree as being an analyst is the greatest (no pressure) job in sports (next to doing the Sunday Pregame Shows), as I'm still suprised Gruden left the booth. I understand that egos are always in play, so any ex-player/ex-coach is easily enticed to prove they can win the Superbowl (or win another one like Gruden). But Romo, Aikman, and Collinsworth pretty much will rule Sunday Football for the next decade as they won't be replaced until they retire. Although MNF has the worst crew so there is always an open spot for the next great color guy.

Seriously, I don't think Romo would leave that job for coaching either.

And unless Jerry Jones wanted to replace Garrett with someone with no coaching experience, he'd have to spend at least a few years as an assistant coach (and pay to match) before anyone would even consider giving him a shot at a head coaching job anyway.

I have no problem with Romo predictions, he's just saying what he'd do in that situation which I think is fair. And surprisingly accurate, when he was calling for a pass to Gronk on the sideline, I was wondering what he was talking about because Gronk was quiet and they were basically manhandling him near the line of scrimmage, but he came up with that big play.

That's the thing, JJ doesn't care about "pay to match". I think you'd be surprised at how much some assistant coaches make. That said, I don't believe they'd want Romo as HC. It would be either OC or some "passing game coordinator" type title but with mucho $$$ attached. Obviously he coudn't make more than Garrett and since I don't know how much Garrett makes, I have no idea how "a little less than Garrett" would compare to his analyst job.

No way Mahomes would be the QB if Reid didn't see the talent there and the potential. He also seems much more innovative and adaptive with his system than Schottenheimer ever was. Of course I wish he would have had more success this year and several years before, but I wouldn't dream of replacing him any time in the near future. I still believe in him and his coaching system.

But for God's sake, find a new DC!

The Saints have squandered any sympathy I remotely had for them over what happened. The meter zeroed out the moment their owner chimed in with her idiotic statement. Maybe she should be more focused on Sean Payton's piss-poor clock management in the final minutes.

Now they need to build a super team like the Rams on defense so they have a chance at beating the Patriots
