Re: 2018 NFL Playoffs - Wild Card Round 01/05/2019 and 01/06/2019

Man, I was torn with the Cowboys' game tonight. Of course, as a fan, I want them to win in the playoffs. But part of me wanted them to lose this one, fire JG and promote Kris Richard to head coach. Pretty sure they're going to lose him to a head coaching position somewhere else. Bring in an offensive coordinator who can groom Dak to become a more consistent, well-rounded quarterback and who has some modern day offensive concepts. I know they make the offensive coordinator change anyway, I just hate to see them lose Richard.

Plus, as a pessimist, the Cowboys will probably lose next week anyway, especially if they play New Orleans. No way they beat them again, especially on the road.

Just sucks when Seattle has to play the cowboys and the refs. Another quality fix to get Dallas a little close and make Jones happy

Why didn't Seattle throw the ball more with Russell? Idiotic to keep running when you were getting stuffed on almost every play

I think this is a good result for KC. Bad result for NE.

I think.
The Chiefs should be worried they have to play the Colts. I don't think the Chiefs have ever beaten the Colts in the playoffs.

Jim Harbaugh ruined their season in 1995, Peyton in 2003, and Luck in 2013.

It would suck if the Colts and Pats win and it is Indy @ NE for the AFC title game where Luck never wins. I could care less about a deflategate rematch.

Anybody should have to worry about playing the Colts. They are the very definition of "peaking at the right time".

Even as a lifelong Pats fan, I think I will be rooting for the Colts if this happens. It's too good of a story and even I am tired of the Pats in Superbowls. As far as I am concerned, the Colts/Pats rivalry was more of a Brady/Manning rivalry. Once Manning left, the team "rivalry" ceased to be meaningful.

.
Doesn't mean much. The Chiefs have won exactly one playoff game since Joe Montana retired as their QB. Their Playoff history against any team is kinda irrelevant. It isn't a slam dunk that they will bet the Colts but I think its a better match up for them than the Bolts or the Ravens, both of whom the Chiefs strgglued against at home in the past month.

Also their past playoff history is possibly irrelevant because they've never had an MVP caliber QB under center before.

Yep. Fresh slate. That history means nothing particularly vis a vis the Colts. I think they are thankful not having to play 1 team that beat them at home and another that really should have this year.

Now the Andy Reid history - that's different. ..

I'm fine with JG and Linehan is likely gone anyway as you said. I like Richard and he knows he has a DC job waiting for him because Marinelli will most likely retire. If he can get an OC job, more power to him, but I'm not sacking JG just so we can keep Richard. That doesn't make much sense to me.

Next week, the Cowboys will either play @Bears or @Rams. So hold your nose and root for the Eagles.

A straight up run with no play action on 3rd and goal? Chargers blew that chance.

From the way things look so far, they will need some help from special teams as well.

The Bolts D seems so well prepared.

Then to go to NE, the exact opposite.

Unless he someday wins a Super Bowl , the enduring image of Phillip Rivers' career will be arms up, frowning, asking for a flag to be thrown.

go go where the money is. Majority of folks thinks sports is rigged. Dallas got away with a whole lot of calls. No face mask on Wilson, a few pass interference calls that amazingly we’re not called

Jackson is 2 for 8 for 17 yards so far.

This isn't about who is the best QB at this point. If the Bolts have found a way to take Jackson's arm out of the game (or he is just having a shit day) and your running game is ineffective, which it is, you have to put Flacco in at some point.

Have to do it. This game is winnable because of their D. Most other D's they would be down 21.
