Again... WWE's roster is immense.. there are tooooooo many wrestlers. Not enough screen time for all of them.

Yeah, I really can't take watching live without the ability to fast forward.

Another big rumor going around is that USA Network will replace Smackdown with NXT. That's rumored to be the reason why we are seeing an influx of NXT wrestlers in the main rosters.

God I hope not. Keep Vince away from NXT altogether.

wow... if they do that, please for the love of god let HHH handle it. That show in itself trounces both shows

That would leave WWE Network with a big hole to fill for weekly programming. Unless USA is putting up major $$ for NXT to offset the subscriber losses for WWE Net.

If DX gets in, then they better induct the NWO
I don't care what Vince says, DX was inspired by the NWO

Sad that this will be the only way Chyna gets into the HOF. She deserves a solo induction but that whole family fucked her over.

That... doesn't sound too bad actually, if NXT can remain under HHH. It kind of goes against what NXT is supposed to be, though.

The problem with the NWO is there were like 400 members at various points. Do you just induct the core three?

Do you induct Bischoff with them too?

NWO induction should be Hogan, Nash and Hall.

The NWO should be in it without a doubt, only the core 3. Bischoff deserves his own HOF entry.

I have heard rumors of WWE using an invasion angle with NXT. If it's true, let's all hope it goes better than the WCE and ECW invasion. WWE screwed that one up bigtime.

Re: The 2019 Pro Wrestling Thread

The plan for now is to have Ciampa, Gargano, Black and Ricochet to work all three brands.
Vince arrived late in the afternoon at about 1 pm or 2 pm and that’s when the readjustments began. The actual script wasn’t done until 30 minutes into the show and changes were still being made an hour and a half after RAW started
Ouch. Thats shitty WCW style booking there

Well, I always look at that and WCW more like Vince going into "screw you" mode and "proving" his guys are better than a promotion he didn't come up with. NXT is more homegrown and the future of the business, so I can see them taking better care of them.

The main problem with invasion storylines is I can't remember the last time there was actually a satisfying ending to one. As much as I liked NWO, what was the payoff? If there was one I don't even remember it. I'd much rather have factions/stables.

Re: The 2019 Pro Wrestling Thread

Yes, but NXT isn't Vince's baby. Vince never had an interest in developmental. It was guys like, Prichard, Ross, Cornette, HHH that saw the value and pushed it. If it's on TV Vince is going to want his fingerprints on it. Look no further than Emma. Had a good small area gimmick that didn't translate to the larger audience, went back down and evolved into a pretty damn good heel and came back up and was promptly messed with. Adrian Neville was a pretty good NXT champ and he comes to the main roster wearing a god damned cape. No doubt in my mind that Vince would turn it all to shit.

100% this. I would also like to see Bischoff induct them.

Gargano just lost the title to the Velveteen Dream, so I imagine now he will be officially called up to the main roster

Re: The 2019 Pro Wrestling Thread

The problem I saw Tuesday with the Gargano debut is that he is announced as being 199 lbs. Technically he and Chiampa are cruiser weights.

And it was evident how dangerous this can be by the bump Chiampa took trying to slam Sheamus (265 lbs) off the ropes.

As a one off debut match it was exciting. But now what?

Re: The 2019 Pro Wrestling Thread

So they drop the four biggest talents, three of which are Finn Balor sized, from their developmental onto their main programming with no promos, no vignettes and no storylines. Aiiiiiiiiii.

Re: The 2019 Pro Wrestling Thread

If they are setting the seeds of an invasion arc (with guys like Balor joining in) I think that's fine, you don't want them too involved in storylines that need to wrap up but you do want them around. if not, and this was just the usual last minute let's do something without forethought, then yeah.

Re: The 2019 Pro Wrestling Thread

According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, part of Vince McMahon’s reasoning for this week’s NXT call-ups was that the current product “is stale” and the current roster “aren’t gonna be Superstars

I think this tweet perfectly says why the product is stale

Re: The 2019 Pro Wrestling Thread

I sort of find inducting factions a bit pointless. I mean like nWo for instance two of the three founding members are in the Hall of Fame already and I'm sure Nash will go in someday. DX already has Michaels in and obviously Triple H goes in down the line. I would also think the Outlaws and X-Pac have a decent shot at going in. Chyna is the only one who probably doesn't have a great chance of going in on her own.

I guess I can see more if the individual members of a group aren't likely to go in alone but the group was popular or whatever.

Kevin Nash is in the hall of fame. He was inducted in 2015
