Without him we would not have the term "X-Pac heat"

One week after one of the best matches on RAW ever, The Revival, the Tag Champs, lose to NXT wrestlers. Why book this match to begin with? It's a lose lose situation for everyone.

Re: The 2019 Pro Wrestling Thread

I'm so torn here. I wasn't a fan of #DIY however I ended up loving Ciampa. That said I am a Revival mark and to have your new champs lose a week later? Doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me.

Dean Ambrose beat EC3 last week, and this week EC3 is nowhere to be found.

Ronda almost killed Sarah and Liv. By the way, the crowd tonight sucked balls

That may have been the most nonsensical episode of Raw ever.

you're off your rocker man. Sean Waltman was a hell of a talent.

Re: The 2019 Pro Wrestling Thread

I’m sitting here realizing thinking back, every episode of Raw for the last couple of months seems out of sync. It feels like they’re having production issues, or something is off.

I must have missed that when he was busy flip flopping from WWF to WCW and then back to the WWF. I do remember when he was young and started out as the Kid, he was ok, but after that, he was just a tag along to whoever was popular at the time. JMO.

Re: The 2019 Pro Wrestling Thread

I think I mentioned this around December, when WWE promised a change in direction, but I feel like the influx of NXT talent to Raw and Smackdown (of sorts) is a prelude to an "invasion" by Triple H to take over the company, storyline wise of course.

All I watched was the Revival match but there was nothing from the crowd. I fell for those guys out there working in front of a crowd like that. It's looking more and more like Vince has killed the business.

I liked Waltman a lot but he eventually did get that go away "X Pac Heat" that people remember. Bischoff has even mentioned that if he would have limited the NWO to a few members it would have been Hall, Nash, Hogan, Konnan and Waltman.

Tho it made sense to keep Waltman around in WCW because he was the one in the stable to compete in the cruiserweight division.

Re: The 2019 Pro Wrestling Thread

People forget how effing good Waltman was as 1-2-3 Kid and even before that in Global and associate him with "X-Pac Heat" and as a hanger oner to big stars. His in ring work before he became a trainwreck outside the ring was some of the best all time in the Lightheavyweight division. Well deserved HOF spot

I'm surprised Ciampa is walking after he looked like blew his left knee tonight on an awkward bump powerbombing Shaemus

I was pretty sure he tore his knee up. Still might be the ultimate result cause that looked bad.

That's almost the same way Seth Rollins tore it up a couple of years ago. He seemed to be walking fine afterwards, but it was scary nonetheless.

Tye Dillinger wrote on Instagram that has asked WWE for his release tonight. Another former NXT wrestler wasted in the main roster

I know right. Same as when that lousy talent Ricky Steamboat flip flopped from NWA to WWF to WCW to WWF to WCW to WWF again. God forbid anyone ever leave a promotion.

He was the worst on the mic out of the kliq. In ring though, he was second only to Shawn Michaels. Just because all the other guys were over more, doesn't dimish his accomplishments. That's like saying that because Michael Jordan was Michael Jordan that Scottie Pippen was just "tagging along". Walltman was still plenty "over" with the fans in his own right. JMO.

So was Brad Armstrong, but I can't see any reason why he should be in the Hall of Fame. But compare Waltman to someone like Brian Pillman. Pillman had a lot of chemistry, was incredibly over(hell even Flair as world champ wanted a program with him), was a great high flyer and helped to revolutionize the junior wrestling division in the US until Bill Watts pretty much killed it. He's someone who is a Hall of Famer. Now compare that to Waltman. He was a great worker, but he never found sustained(or really much) success outside of being in a faction that featured the other members of the clique and while he was good people like Pillman, Michaels, Owen and others were already doing a lot of what he was doing. Seriously outside of beating Razor, and his match with Bret his highlight reel gets pretty small. Realistically, if it wasn't for the fact Waltman buddied up with Hall, Nash, Helmsley and Michaels he never would have become higher than a jobber/jobber to the stars. But him being inducted with DX doesn't really bother me, but it does feel like DX should just be Chyna, Michaels and Helmsely and not the extended version, but I can see the arguments for both the Michaels and Helmsely versions.

Re: The 2019 Pro Wrestling Thread

My girlfriend's daughter got to stay up late last night because there is no school today and she wanted to watch wrestling. Ugh...turned on Smackdown and it's 20 minutes of Shane/Miz and then the Uso's. Up next is Black vs Andrede, a match that I would enjoy but she's 9 and just wants to watch Women wrestle. Somehow there were 2 commercial breaks in that match that went on forever. Up next more talking, then the Bar vs Ciampa and Gargano, again a match that I as an adult would enjoy but she was bored beyond belief, and again more commercials. By that time it was time for her to go to bed and I felt bad cause all she got to see was 2 matches, a lot of talking and a lot of commercials.

Hulu has Smackdown/Raw commercial free.

Plus WWE Network but on a delayed basis.
