The Stripes wasted absolutely no time getting this announced via social media this morning.

I thought for sure the Bengals were just gonna rehire Marvin Lewis.

Raiders playing at Oracle Park in San Francisco is dead.

SF Mayor is against it and the 49ers won't waive territorial rights.

Nick Foles informs Eagles he'll void $20M option - NFL.com

Nick Foles voided the final year of his contract. He will become a free agent.

Only way he could return is if the Eagles franchise tag him.

Everything I have read is that this was all mapped out, they will franchise tag him then trade him.

Yeah. I do wonder what they can get in return for a disgruntled QB who will be locked into a $55M contract for two years. Also can the team that trades for him agree to a long term contract instead of the Franchise tag rate if both sides agree after Foles had already signed the tag?

Maybe Stanford or Cal or worst case Santa Clara.

Re: 2019 NFL Off-Season Thread

Probably a dumb question as I have done ZERO research into this, but why don't they just go play in Vegas? Sam Boyd Stadium (wehre UNLV plays) can hold 40,000, and I bet they could get it even higher if they wanted.

Is it simply because it would detract from the hoopla of opening their Las Vegas tenure and the new stadium simultaneously?

No itís because Sam Boyd is a DUMP and would not meet the minimum standards set forth by the NFL. I imagine that the UNR stadium in Reno would meet the standards though.

Re: 2019 NFL Off-Season Thread

I'd suggest LaVell Edwards Stadium in Provo, UT which seats 60,000+ and is a in beautiful location only 5 hours from Las Vegas. That area is so starved for a local team to identify with that most are Broncos fans despite being a 500+ mile and several mountain ranges drive from Denver. But I doubt they'd be able to sell beer.

Could they play for a year at Qualcomm or do the Chargers still have territorial rights to San Diego?

Re: 2019 NFL Off-Season Thread

After this season Oakland will never see another NFL game or team(unless the NFL get's expansion happy).

Only chance for Oakland would be one of these upstart leagues.

I don't want to hear about old fucking stadiums because the Cubs and Red Sox play in stadiums that pre- date Babe Ruth.
Oakland does not deserve another team. The Raiders still had problems filling seats and the politicians are so fucking stupid they let the Warriors and Raiders leave and the A's could join them too since they still don't have a stadium deal.

San Diego already said no, but it had nothing to do with the Chargers. And as an FYI, it's now SDCCU (San Diego County Credit Union) Stadium.

Chubb is no Kareem Hunt as a football talent. It just add to your offensive talent in support of Mayfield.

I donít support this move but in the NFL, talent is sometime more important than moral values.

"sometimes?" If the talent is significant enough and not on the decline, it takes an Aaron Hernandez situation to keep him off a team. And yes, that includes the horrendous act of kneeling for the anthem, if it was Aaron Rodgers who did that he'd still have a job.

Why did San Diego say no? It could be a bit of a money-maker for a year and a Screw-You to the Chargers as a bonus.

Speaking of the Raiders, they're pulling a Ruthless People and have started "marking down" PSLs. They called me again last week (I gave them a hard-pass in October) and told me that some are under $1000/seat now. Last time I did a meeting there, nothing was under $5K. I have another appt on Wednesday to look at the new offerings.

Hunt would have been a better fit with the Bears and he worked with Nagy before in KC.
