Wow. Balls by Chargers. Fucking hilarious that they may be the 2nd best AFC team and will be a wild card team. Look out for them in playoffs because they own on the road.

Love the call to go for 2, even if it hadn't worked. Crazy to think the Chargers could finish 13-3 and still be a wild card.

Both teams have tough week 16 matchups as well, although I think I would rather host the Ravens than play in Seattle.

And the one team with no true homefield advantage.

Rivers might be the only QB that has to go to a silent count in his own stadium.

Chargers got lucky with that bogus interference call at the end.

The Chiefs are still the better team.

Congrats to the Bolts.

But god....the officiating again. Just horrendous. I've said it before - Walt Anderson cannot retire soon enough. So many calls against the DBs and then they miss another helmet to helment hit.

Helluva prediction you made a few weeks ago.

Re: 2018 NFL Regular Season Thread -- Week 15

NFL really lucked out as that was one of the better Thursday Night games in years, as I give the Chargers coach some cred for going for 2 at the end.

Is it me or is there more penalties these days, as it just seems like there is a flag on every play. Even Aikman and Buck were snickering after a flag would drop, "And another flag......" Or maybe I'm just getting old and the refs have always sucked.

No, the refs have been horrible this year; it's not you. I think even they are confused on what is or isn't a penalty so they're just throwing flags all over the field.

What does the NFL rule book state the definition of an uncatchable pass? Is it 20 yards over the receiver's head?

Re: 2018 NFL Regular Season Thread -- Week 15

AFAIK, the actual rule book doesn't define an uncatchable pass. But it does use it as a term to enforce other rules.

Re: 2018 NFL Regular Season Thread -- Week 15

That call at the end was horrendous, but it was the Chiefs' defense that coughed up that game. Couldn't make a stop multiple times, allowing for huge chunks of yardage late. And that clear block in the back on their last kickoff return that backed them way up really doomed their offense.
I'm super-disappointed.

But I do have to say that these three Chiefs losses (NE, LAR, LAC) have been three of the best games of the year.

Pass was uncatchable and going out of bounds .

Local news showed people in line (during the game) waiting to buy Divisional Championship shirts. Guess they'll have to wait

A divisional championship would be a big deal if there were fewer divisions.

It's like a guy that has eight g/f's and tell's everyone one of them that they are No. 1. Well that's what they do in the NFL.

I hate when people blame officiating (since I referee in another sport), but Jebus that was terrible. They miss obvious calls, but throw the flag when a DB gives a side-eye to a receiver. I didn't have a dog in the fight in last night's game, and it looked like the crap calls were distributed fairly evenly. But every damn play in the fourth drew a flag. It was horrible.

I find it impossible to believe that anthem protests are the #1 reason that people stopped watching NFL games. It might be up there, but officiating like last night has to be the bigger cause.

My referee crew (again, not football) always tries to err on the side of not making a call, because no one buys a ticket to watch us call penalties.

The Chiefs were kicking their asses as usual for the 1st half and it looked like it was going to be their 10th straight win over Rivers but they took their foot off the gas pedal in the second half.

They already have a big fan base here. It's a been here seen that for fans for decades. Mark Davis would piss Spanos off by doing so (PERFECT!) and you're not only getting the San Diego, Raider fans, but LA as well.

Was not watching the early until I noticed the Jets were actually up in the 4th. Alas, as soon as I tuned in, Houston ran away with it.

Hopkins is all you need to know. Greatness.

Unless he goes off, they'll lose their first playoff game.

Congrats Browns. So Gregg Williams now has more wins with the Browns than Hue lol

And some rumors of Hue getting the Bengals HC job.
If true,sorry Bengal fans.

9 early games and just two late games this week, just crazy.
And one late game is in New England.
