Even if they do, and then win vs Baltimore and at Denver (no small task), they would still be a WC if the Chiefs win at Seattle and home vs Oakland as the Chiefs would still own the Division tie-breaker.

Just to clarify, wildcards can only be #5 or #6 seeds. Unless the Chargers can win their division, their record compared to the Pats or Texans is irrelevant.

They mentioned during halftime of the Rams/Bears game that the game winning play for the Dolphins today was the longest game ending TD from the line of scrimmage in NFL history.

Despite being from Illinois, the Bears have never excited me ... until tonight.

The look on McVey’s face as that bounced off the goalpost was priceless!

How does that play score in fantasy football?

Rams looked terrible tonight. Almost Jeff Fisher coached bad.

As I recall it is a TD pass and reception (credited to the player who scored) and all yardage gained is receiving yards spread between the ball carriers, each credited for the distance they advanced the ball minus whatever distance any backwards pass covered. The net on the play is 69 passing/receiving yards and one TD pass/reception same as if one player caught the pass and scored.

Maybe Jerron Armstead is the glue to their offense and if he is gone they whole offense is out of wack.

Maybe that week 1 loss to the Bears. blowing the Dolphins game. and losing Trubisky for the Giants game cost the Bears a shot at a bye.

If there was any justice the Saints would have to play in the cold and elements in Soldier Field to earn a Super Bowl berth.

It's regular passing yardage/TD for the QB.

For the receivers, each gets their respective receiving yards gained. The original receiver gets the reception credit (if you're using PPR). The receiving TD goes to the final receiver who scored.

Not sure why that would be justice. That's obviously not going to happen.

Losing Trubisky should never be a reason for them losing. He was god awful last night and did everything in his power to keep the Rams in that game.

The problem with the Bears is that as good as that defense is, it really doesn't travel all that well. But at least they should be able to crush whichever mediocre team backs into the 6th seed in the wild card round.

A couple of weeks ago, the writers had essentially given the MVP to Brees. I feel like the race with Mahomes has tightened up significantly.

I wouldn't count out Rivers either. At least not yet.

http://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/2...eggie-mckenzie

The Oakland Raiders have fired general manager Reggie McKenzie, effective immediately, sources confirmed to ESPN.

McKenzie, 55, has been the Raiders GM since 2012. He was signed through the 2021 NFL draft as part of a four-year extension he signed in 2016.
Raiders keep on cleaning house. So sad watching Cooper and Mack play great elsewhere.

Unless it's Green Bay. For Bears fans that would be the nightmare scenario, especially since it would mean they just lost to GB at home again a few days from now.

Oh man, that would be so great! It would make all of those losses and the firing of McCarthy worthwhile!! (Except it would also mean that Joe Philben would likely get the fulltime gig... If he can pull that off though, I guess he would deserve it!)

If GB needs Minny to lose Week 17 to get in, you can be sure the Bears will lay down in Week 17.

Haha I wouldnít put it past them! Then again it would make too much sense so GB can probably count on CHI to screw it up if it actually comes to that.

Re: 2018 NFL Regular Season Thread -- Week 14

I think its Minnesota more than any other team that will back door it into the playoffs. Many teams will need to lose on the final weekend for the Vikings to get in the playoffs(unless they beat Seattle tonight).
