Re: 2018 NFL Regular Season Thread -- Week 11

Great assortment of night games this week, possibly the best of the season so far.

Another week where we in the DC area only get two Sunday day games, but I don't even care this week. None of the FOX 1:00 games are all that hot.

I have no idea how to handicap Packers @ Seahawks (-2.5). Both teams are totally inconsistent and you never know which team will show up for a given game. That's one I would stay far away from betting.

Re: 2018 NFL Regular Season Thread -- Week 11

Chargers @ Steelers is a great matchup and belongs on SNF.

The NFL has moved the Chargers at Steelers game on Dec. 2 to prime time, replacing the 49ers at Seahawks matchup originally scheduled for Sunday night.

San Francisco-Seattle will move to 4:25 p.m. ET on Fox.

The following week, the Dec. 9 Rams at Bears game is now in prime time at 8:20 p.m. ET. Steelers at Raiders moves from a night contest to 4:25 p.m. ET on Fox.

The Niners have not played a SNF game since Oct 11, 2015 at Giants.

That is how pathetic we are as a franchise the West Coast chapter of the Cleveland Browns and we don't matter in the national conversation.

Imagine if the Raiders hosted AZ and that would be the only Sunday late game in the Bay Area but since it is in AZ we get Eagles @ Saints too.

They played Miami at home this past Sunday. That said, it is their third trip to the east or west coast in 18 days.

Tennessee at Indy feels like a sneaky good game.

At least you guys got George Kittle to build around. He might be the NFL's best kept secret at this point.

No

Kittle is good but you don't win super bowls with just a good TE.

TEN @ Colts could be good.

TEN @ Texans on MNF in week 12 looked like an awful game but that could be for the division lead.

Two words: Jimmy Garoppolo. Granted, he started 1-2 this year (albeit losses against two very good teams) but if he wasn't injured and there was still buzz about him this game would not have been flexed. Of course, it doesn't help that the Seahawks are 4-5 either.

Re: 2018 NFL Regular Season Thread -- Week 11

There's a sports website called New Arena and they listed the top 25 overrated NFL QB's of all-time.

1. Archie Manning
2. Joe Namath
3. Terry Bradshaw
4. Eli Manning
5. Bart Starr
6. Michael Vick
9. Doug Flutie
12. Tony Romo
17. Peyton Manning
23 Matthew Stafford

I don't think Archie Manning's name comes up when mentioning great QBs of his era.

I think Joe Namath should be ranked No. 1.

Terry Bradshaw and Bart Starr were known for winning championships and when they played QB stats weren't that important.

Don't know why Doug Flutie made the list because he was a backup QB and won a game here and there.

No question about Tony Romo and Matthew Stafford because neither one has won a big game.

Is that another one of those dumb lists that uses the word "overrated" but doesn't mention what rating they talking about?

After ESPN did a story about Patrick Mahomes' love of ketchup (yes, even on steak), Heinz has offered to give him a lifetime of ketchup if he throws 57 touchdowns.

That would break the record, right?

If he throws 26 touchdowns in his remaining 6 games, well, I guess I'm not winning the fantasy playoffs. He's got two against the Raiders so that's like 10 touchdowns right there (if they let him play, which they didn't let Alex Smith do last year)

Yeah, they mentioned Namath's questionable numbers on PTI the other day so I looked them up. ~50% completion average (with no single season higher than 52.9%) and substantially more picks than TDs, and a career win/loss of 62-67. Without his famous prediction, he would be much more of a historical afterthought. Even his numbers in SB III were pretty lackluster.

This game was looking like a blowout before that miss. Still might be.

Penny with one of those runs that covers twice as much ground as the actual gain.

Rodgers scrambles then throws a 50-yard bomb to some no-name.

I thought every time Jimmy G was on the field, the 49ers had a chance to win. He knows how to read the field and he’s way better than anything else they have. Although I do like Mullens. And with both Jimmy G and McKinnon coming back next season, and Kittle and Breida, they should be competitive.
