Why in soccer does the home team get listed first(or on top) in schedule?

Why in soccer does the home team get listed first(or on top) in schedule?

I don't think no other sport does that(not sure about Rugby) but it makes no sense and I wonder how many fans have shown up at the wrong stadium thinking the second team listed was the home team?

Messes me up when the home team is listed last

Roller derby does it too, which I find annoying.

I was flipping channels on Sunday and they had Michigan State vs Indiana soccer on BTN and they listed Indiana at the bottom. Maybe in NCAA soccer they have the same listing as everyone else(except in the regular soccer world).

I think the MLS tries too be like everyone else in pro soccer(a lot of teams are named United) but in the long run I don't think anyone outside NA cares about the MLS.

Are MLS scores ever mentioned in the UK or anywhere else in Europe or Asia?
