2018 College Football Week 9

Here is the schedule for week nine of the college football season. It's hard to believe this is the last weekend of college football in October. The season is going by way too fast.

Iowa 14 PSU 7 is the weirdest 14-7 you'll ever see.

I know he's on ASU, and I'm an ASU homer, but that catch by N'Keal Harry was the best catch I have ever seen. Holy shit.

and Kentucky scores a TD on an untimed down to pull out an ugly win over Missouri. I expect a return to reality when Georgia comes to town to erase any chance of winning the SEC East.

I'm not a fan of UK, but I wouldn't mind seeing them win the SEC East. The Wildcats and Vandy have never won the East so it would be nice to see a new champ crowned.

The first College Football Rankings are out. No big shock with the top four teams.

Maryland has fired head coach DJ Durkin a day after he returned to work after a lengthy review by the school's Board of Regents recommend reinstating him. The students didn't even get a chance to protest.

The president of the University, who already announced he was resigning, made the decision on his own to fire Durkin. Good for him.

Idiotic Board, but at least he's gone.

Baffled why he was hired to begin with and why they even considered keeping him given that he was 10-15 and they were playing better w/o him. Money I suppose.

except if he had been fired for cause, they would not have had to pay him, I think? But because the Board said to keep him, and then the president let him go, they're on the hook for a large amount of money.

Which is ridiculous. A player dying on your watch, due to your practice procedures, and that's not cause? If that's not cause, I don't know what is. Fire him for cause and then let him sue you.

I assume they didn't want to go through a lawsuit process - so that's why I said Money.

Whatever. He's gone. That's the most important thing. He was a lousy coach to begin with. I couldn't give a rats ass about Maryland when it comes to money. They're making bank in Big Ten TV revenue anyhow.

Now they need to can Turgeon.
