Patriots @ Bills on MNF should be fun lol

Saints vs Vikings and Ravens @ Panthers the only good games on the schedule. The rest are shite.

People might think Packers @ Rams might be a good game but I think the lambs destroy them. Joe Buck finally gets some rest and Thom Brennaman replaces him.

It will be interesting to see Mahomes face the Broncos for the 3rd time in his career and maybe the Broncos expose his flaws.

4 consecutive nights of Joe Buck. Football tonight and 3 WS games. I'm sure everyone is thrilled.

It's his first game against the Broncos at Arrowhead. I don't think the Broncos will be able to expose such flaws there.

Two touchdown passes in the 10 minutes since I turned on the game.

I've stopped commenting because my broadcast appears to be about seven minutes behind the live game. I don't think I paused it or anything.

I didn't have the sound on last night, but what was the bogus reason they gave for reversing the Houston Def TD when the pass/fumble/whatever went backwards 10 yards? Total horseshit - obviously I had the HOU DST.

Essentially that he was attempting to throw it forward. Bogus, but it's what they went with. These days it's not a matter of if there will be a ridiculous call during a game. It's all about how many and how much they will affect the outcome and/or fantasy stats.

Iirc, Pierera said the rule is if the QB is being hit, the travel/direction of the ball doesn't matter if his arm is coming forward to throw. Basically the hit is that caused it to be a backwards pass but because his arm was coming forward it is no different than any other plays where the ball goes forward.

Re: 2018 NFL Regular Season Thread -- Week 8

I would say that it's a fumble rather than incomplete pass.
I also didn't have the sound on and I figured that was a TD but the NFL has some strange rules.

Explained that it is no different than when a QB goes to throw, his arm is going forward when hit and ball comes out. That is called a incomplete pass. The direction the ball travels is irrelevant.

Re: 2018 NFL Regular Season Thread -- Week 8

What made it worse in this case is that (at least to my eyes, and the two calling the game, and many others) is that it appeared quite clear that Brock chose to try and pull back the ball right up until he got hit and spun. His arm was actually coming back into his body, not throwing away from his body.

If it hits the ground first. That's consistent with if you throw a normal pass (w/o being hit) and it hits the ground first, it's incomplete.

If you throw a normal backwards pass (w/o being hit) and it hits the ground first, it's a fumble. I don't understand why intent should matter here.

That sucked. Texans Do only have 4 points in that blowout win.

I forgot there was an early game and have Yeldon, Hyde, and Clement sitting on my bench waiting for me to make a decision on them. Of course they’ve all been useless until that big Yeldon catch.

Brutal end-zone drop by the Jax guy.

Re: 2018 NFL Regular Season Thread -- Week 8

Has Bortles completed more than 1 pass beyond 10 yards - in the air? I counted one, but I took a nap during the 2Q but he is good at scrambling.

Everything was check down and scramble. Credit to the Eagles pass rush, but sheesh.
