The Celtics lose back to back home games to the Lakers and now the Clippers.

and they get booed at the end of regulation.

Re: 2018-2019 NBA Regular Season Thread

Ughh, frustrating game today, especially after the hot start and Kuzma's hot start. I knew it was going to be a really high scoring game today, especially after the 1st quarter. I had a feeling they couldn't sustain the hot shooting.

I don't get why Luke started Bullock today over Rondo, especially after Rondo's game the other day. Bullock only had a day or so of practice with the team. He really was not ready or in sync with the 1st team offense.

What was even more frustrating was the poor play of the 2nd unit. So many unnecessary reckless shots, especially from Muscala. That just led to the 76ers getting fast break points.

They really got worked in the 2nd quarter and got steamrolled in the 2nd half. I give the 76ers credit. They really are a loaded team and are probably the scariest coming out of the East,

Rondo didn't play much overall, wonder if something else was up. But yeah, not a great showing for the new guys or the Lakers bench.

I do wonder if Jimmy Butler is going to be the odd man out in the offense as there are only so many shots in a game, and someone is going to have to swallow their ego. I actually think Tobias Harris fits in perfectly with our offense as he is that swing guy/stretch 4 that we have lacked and compliments Embiid perfectly. Jimmy Butler just seems like the one who is going to get the shaft in this offensive scheme, and I wonder if he walks after this year (unless the Sixers make it to the Finals and he decides at his age a Ring is more important than 20 points a game). If Butler really wanted to swallow his pride, he could focus on defense as he is one of the best defenders in the game and he could be that lock down person that a championship team covets. But he has had problems wherever he has gone as he wants to be the man, and right now I believe he is the down on the chain when it comes to getting the ball after Embiid.

I'm doubting the 76ers even get our of the first round.

Assuming the Pacers fall off (which hasn't happened yet) they should get homecourt. Who do you think is going to beat them?

You think Brooklyn or Charlotte is going to beat them in the first round?

to the Hawks

December 25th they were 20-14 and I think had the 5th or 6th seed.

They've gone 8-15 since then and have sunk out of the playoff picture.

How the hell do they beat the Celtics, one of the best teams in the East, and a few nights later lose to the Hawks? One of the worst teams in the NBA.

They barely beat the Celtics. And this team lost to the Knicks and Cavs. I literally expect the Lakers to lose every single game. Moreso if the team theyíre playing is on a losing streak or just plain bad. Iím honestly tired of all the underachieving. Maybe Iím tired of Luke Walton. Is Phil available? Lol.

A Nightmare scenario for the Sixers is a 4-5 matchup with the Celtics, as they have yet to prove they can beat them. Horford seems to do a good job on Embiid, and the big Celtics guards/forwards usually neutralize Ben Simmons in the paint. The Sixers are 1-7 this year against Toronto, Boston and Milwaukee as the only win was when Kwai sat out for an injury.

Well, that's why they have to leapfrog the Pacers. If they can't even do that, then yeah, I don't like their chances because it means they couldn't overtake an Oladipo-less Pacers team.

I agree that Boston is a bad scenario, though Boston isn't exactly playing lights out either. But Stevens will absolutely outcoach Brett Brown and expose Simmons's major weaknesses, and Boston has the talent. Otherwise, I can't see that team losing against the Pacers, Nets, Hornets, Pistons, Heat, or Magic in seven games.

Re: 2018-2019 NBA Regular Season Thread

O/U 50% Luke Walton gets fired eventually? I say over.

I don't think the Lakers would make a coaching change right now. But, if they don't make the playoffs, I think Luke is out.

I know he had a great run as Warriors Interim head coach before he came to the Lakers and hasn't had the best talent at the start of his Lakers coaching career.

And yeah I know they've had injuries, but he's just getting flat out out coached recently and his "defense" has been hot garbage. And some of his rotations have been questionable. Giving up 143 points to the 76ers and now losing to the shitty Hawks. And they're in danger of missing the playoffs unless they go on some crazy winning streak.

I'd say 50/50 that he's gone before their next game. They have a 9-day break right now and so if they are ever going to do it during the season, now would be the time.

So what, Brian Shaw would take over? I doubt they hire anyone of significance until the offseason, right?

Re: 2018-2019 NBA Regular Season Thread

The participants in the 3 point contest have me really excited to watch -

• Devin Booker, Suns
• Seth Curry, Trail Blazers
• Stephen Curry, Warriors
• Danny Green, Raptors
• Joe Harris, Nets
• Buddy Hield, King
• Damian Lillard, Trail Blazers
• Khris Middleton, Bucks
• Dirk Nowitzki, Mavericks
• Kemba Walker, Hornets

The slam dunk contest... ugh. Not so much. I hope someone will surprise me.

Miles Bridges, Hornets
John Collins, Hawks
Hamidou Diallo, Thunder
Dennis Smith Jr., Knicks

David Stern had no respect for Dell Demps, so I imagine this guy won't be bouncing around other teams like other GMs
