Going to the Lakers home opener tonight. Damn it Lebron, jacking up the prices for even the cheap seats

Ughh, frustrating game.

That fight really killed the momentum they had at the end of the game.

Also, their 3-point shooting is horrible.

Harden and Paul really killed the Lakers tonight.

Ingram and Rondo will probably get 2 game suspensions at least for throwing punches.

Yeah, that was an ugly, stupid fight. They were absolutely meek in the four minutes after that went down. Bummer

Still this team looks talented. Need to start winning games ASAP though.

Paul claimed that Rondo spit on him.

In one of the replays here, you could see Paul wiping off his face before he started getting angry.

Ingram is going to get more for sure. The dude ran halfway across the court to deck someone, that alone is a clear reminder of Malice in the Palace and no way the league is tolerating that. Which is so weird because you almost never see emotion from the guy.

Re: 2018-2019 NBA Regular Season Thread

Well that was a fun game to be at

Random thoughts... I know it's 2 losses for the Lakers, but I see a lot of positives in their play given that it's against 2 strong playoff teams. The Lakers go through spurts where they move the ball really really well, and they seem capable of getting to the paint. Their defense wains a little and they still struggle from downtown, but the ball movement is there and it feels like Ingram and Hart have certainly improved. Kuzma seems to struggle a little bit the most with Lebron there. But both games have been close for the most part, minus a few of those phantom James Harden fouls and we would have been right there

As for the fight, was hard to tell what happened at the game itself since they didn't replay any of the fight on the big screen. I don't really know why Ingram was so mad at Harden to instigate it. The crowd was chanting Rondo's name a few times during all of that, which I guess is one way for a former Celtic to win over Laker fans.

I never seen Rondo spit on Paul. But I may be a bit bias because i'm a Lakers' fan.

But seriously, I can see Paul wipe his face but I don't see Rondo spitting unless it was right before the replay starts.

None of the cameras caught rondo spitting. The current theory is that melo, who was standing right there, was talking and got some spit on CP3, who assumed the worst. Melo the secret weapon.

I saw this angle on Deadspin, couldn't find another source to embed so just a direct link. I don't really see Rondo spitting there but hard to tell.

Re: 2018-2019 NBA Regular Season Thread

Rondo denied spitting on Paul and the Lakers believed him after seeing all the replays.

Apparently Kiki Vandeweghe, who is in charge of handing down suspensions, was at the game last night.

So basically Ingram started it because Harden outplayed him.

Ingram is pretty low key and quiet. Not usually a punk. Something Harden did must have really pissed him off.

Re: 2018-2019 NBA Regular Season Thread

Ingram is going to end up with the biggest suspension and fine. He started it (no idea what provoked him but he started the fight) and then when CP3 and Rondo got into it he came flying back in with a punch, which is probably the biggest transgression of the whole thing.

Lakers will probably make the payoffs, problem for Lebron is they probably can't make the playoffs if he puts in the usual cruise control until the playoffs are around the corner effort he has given the last few years. The west is too deep for that.

Headgames. shows his immaturity at least. Lakes should've kept Randle instead.

Re: 2018-2019 NBA Regular Season Thread

In other non brawl related news:

Jokic had an insane statline the same day as the brawl, a perfect shooting triple double:
35 points on 11-11 shooting (3-3 3pt), 10-11 free throws, 11 assists, 12 rebounds, 4 steals and a block

I mean, it was against the Suns but they haven't been relegated to the G League yet.

He followed that up with only 23 points, 11 rebounds, and 6 assists in a win over GS.

The top 5 scoring leaders in this early season:
1. Kemba Walker: 35.3 ppg
2. Nikola Mirotic, 33.0 ppg
3. Zach LaVine, 31.5 ppg
4. Stephen Curry, 31.0 ppg
5. Devin Booker, 30.0 ppg

That's only like a game or three for each player, so doesn't mean much yet, but Kemba taking all the shots, and a former Bull and a Bull in the top 3. It helps that New Orleans is averaging 140 points over two games, and Sacramento is giving up 130.7 points, and they played each other. I dunno if it's the shot clock change but man scoring is really high so far.

For Lakers fans, the now suspended Rondo was leading the league in assists and spits, McGee in blocks.
