Re: 2018 NFL Regular Season Thread -- Week 3

Not at all Week 3 related, but thought I'd mention that I went to the Raiders Preview Center for an appointment yesterday. The stadium will be remarkable, no doubt. But ugh, those PSLs. They want $7000-$7500 per seat for mid-level corner or upper level midfield seats -- that's for the right to buy $160/game tickets.
I wouldn't mind going to some games now and then. But I hate the Raiders and would rather put that $15K towards a few years of Golden Knight season tickets instead. Plus, no parking. He was selling me on how great the Ride Share lot would be, as if it'll be easy for 60,000 people to snag an Uber after each game.

Anyway here are a couple of pictures of the scale model he showed me. In the second one you can see the retractable window behind the Al Davis Eternal Flame . It will open up to that strip view you can see pictured behind everyone on the wall there.

Spoiler:

It looks like an amazing venue, but I think I will just keep my money and just buy Chiefs tickets every year and maybe one or two other ones. Take my chances that way.

So, whaddya all think the reason for a Jets/Browns matchup to be in primetime? (and keep in mind, I'm a die-hard Jets fan, but even I realize this is two teams that will be happy to sniff at 8-8 this season)

The optimistic reason is that the schedulers hoped this would be Mayfield/Darnold and they could yap all night about who really should have gone first overall

The pessimistic reason is that all 32 teams get a Thursday night game, and that if you get two mediocre teams in one game, it's the proverbial two birds with one stone.

The reason for Jets/Browns in primetime? Because every team has to get a primetime game (and play a short week game) and it's no coincidence that this is one of the NFLN-exclusive TNF games.

The rare week where MNF is the best of the primetime games.

Baffling how Detroit got 2 primetime games in the first 3 weeks.

The Cowboys D (2nd in sacks) should feast on the Seahawks OL. But since I have very little confidence in the offense, I expect a thrilling 13-10 game which could go either way.

Thank you NFL for Lions being in Prime Time.

I get too watch the Vikings again this week.

No Sunday afternoon Detroit Lions Crapfest for Detroit area Sunday afternoon NFL tv viewing.

That is how I feel when the Niners get a primetime game

Another loss for the Niners in KC. Even when they had Steve Young they could never win in Arrowhead (Last win in KC was in 1982) plus it is the early 10am road game which usually means a loss.

Week 3 is loaded with interconference games and the battle of Los Angeles.

I would rather have Jets/Browns than a boring Cowboys/Giants SNF game.

Surprised nobody complains when the Lions play every year on Thanksgiving.

The NFL should rotate that Thanksgiving game.

at this rate the Jets will be 1-1-1 and the Browns 0-1-2 with a 0-0 final

I'd say it's better than watching the Browns getting killed against a popular team. If they have a chance at beating anyone I imagine it's the Bills or Jets.

Crowell will probably get a fine for acting like he's wiping his ass with the ball

Is it just me, or does Josh McCown look like he's 23 years old instead of 39? Maybe it's the haircut?

Browns with a really solid 2nd half. Sooooo close! Will they still pull a Browns somehow?

Tyrod Taylor just got Wally Pip'd. Mayfield is legit. He should be starting moving forward.

Cleveland!

For at least a week, both the Browns and the Giants look pretty smart.

When Week 3 is over, the Steelers will be last place in their division and winless. Ugh.

Why do I even bother watching the Jets? If Todd Bowles was in an escape room with 4 bare walls and one doorway that was wide open he’s still be stuck inside. He’s completely clueless. I shouldn’t be surprised that the Jets lost tonight. SOJ.

I always knew the Jets were gonna be the answer to that trivia question (who ended the Browns' winless streak)

Sam looked like shit because he has no o line and his receivers donít understand the concept of separation.
