2018 College Football Week 3

The weather is playing a huge role in this week's College Football action. Some games have already been canceled and game times have been moved up due to Hurricane Florence.

Re: 2018 College Football Week 3

Break up the Hoosiers!

38-28 at *Miami, FL
20-16 vs Virginia
38-10 vs Ball St.

Coming into today's games, all of their opponents are/were undefeated EXCEPT for their one loss to Indiana... except Ball St who barely lost last week to #8 Notre Dame by a single score. Too bad IU has to play conference games, lol.

Spoiler:
that first game was indeed AT Miami, where IU played Florida International (Women's School for the Blind) University.

LSU still needs a QB. Amazing that they had Beckham and Landry at the same time and did shit.

Onions kick by LSU.

I don't blame the fans for booing. Lame 15 yard penalty on the 50/50.

Re: 2018 College Football Week 3

That’s a pretty big miss by the replay crew on the tOSU TD.

Re: 2018 College Football Week 3

Judging by his two kicks so far, if TCU has to depend on their kicker they are in trouble.

Re: 2018 College Football Week 3

Shocked they didn’t keep that targeting call on TCU. It was one of those that was a penalty if you go by the rule, but also why the rule is stupid.

Not a good last couple of minutes for TCU.

Great playcall, poor execution on the lateral attempt by TCU.

B1G continues to shine, Akron beats Northwestern.

That was Akron’s first win against the B1G since 1894

Re: 2018 College Football Week 3

San Diego State beats Arizona State for the 2nd year in a row, this one 28-21.

The 2nd half was pure SDSU dominance over ASU. The stats and time of possession in the 2nd half were totally lopsided.

The ending was bizarre: SDSU rushes for a first down that effectively wins the game with 43 seconds left, but the running back gets stripped of the ball after his butt hits the ground and the refs award the ball to ASU anyway - followed by a 4th down Hail Mary that's almost caught - if not for a vicious hit by an SDSU DB that draws a targeting penalty. The ball did come loose as he and the ball hit the ground (the ball hits the ground and he loses control, so no catch after replay), but the targeting gives ASU one more chance to tie the game with another Hail Mary - which is knocked away by another SDSU defender.

Wild ending.

But SDSU dominated the 2nd half and played the better game.

SDSU has won 3 of their last 4 games against the Pac12 (Wins against Stanford and ASU last year, and a win against ASU this year).

Re: 2018 College Football Week 3

Great article here about that awesome North Texas fake fair catch play:
https://www.sbnation.com/college-foo...punt-return-td

It was a lot more involved than just the returner's good acting job.
