http://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/2...ngeles-dodgers

The Los Angeles Dodgers have agreed to acquire second baseman Brian Dozier from the Minnesota Twins, according to ESPN's Jerry Crasnick and multiple reports.

The Twins will receive infielder Logan Forsythe and two minor league prospects, according to the New York Post.
I'm trying to remember, but I think the Dodgers were rumored for Dozier a couple years back before ending up with Forsythe instead. I don't think they really needed infield help with guys being able to rotate over there, but oh well. Forsythe has been pretty bad.

Yeah, Forsythe has really stunk it up. That's a pretty big addition, but apparently he hasn't been hitting well this season

Pirates got Chris Archer who was at the top of the Dodgers wish list for years. I didn't realize Pirates were playoff contenders.

Not listed in the poll and probably only an outside 'contender' but my vote is for the Pirates. I think these moves can be enough to push them to that WC spot and if they fail, they'll have these players for a few more years.

Chris Archer hasn't been great this year but Pirates seem to get a lot out of their pitchers and I think leaving the AL East will help him out.

Keone Kela is a really nice piece to pair with Vazquez in the back end of the bullpen. That's a mean 8th and 9th inning.

The Braves stole Gausman from the Orioles for taking on O'Day's contract and a couple of forgettable prospects.

Gausman is the type of pitcher that could be converted to the bullpen and become an elite closer with the right guidance.

There is now no one left of virtually any worth on the O's. They will be holding open tryouts for pitchers tomorrow.

Gausman is the most over-rated pitcher in the history of the Orioles.

Didn't he go 25 consecutive road starts w/o a win(an MLB record). Plus (I could be wrong) only one time in his MLB career has his W-L record been over .500 during anytime during the season.

He was crying today when being interviewed for the last time by Baltimore media because he has been such a big disappointment.

I don't know about him working out of the bullpen.

What's the big too do about A-Rod crying about the Cubs Darvish being on the DL and unable to pitch?

Has A-Rod ever cried about Jacoby Ellsbury(his ex-teammate w/Yankees)? He has been a permanent fixture on the DL ever since day one of his MLB career.

The Orioles made so many transactions today that they will play tonight with only a two man bench against the Yankees.

That's ok by me as long as they still have 20 relief pitchers. According to MASN(Orioles tv website) that's what makes the World go round(at least it seems that way since most nearly all their articles are about relief pitchers).

He could be.

O's did what they had to do. Jettison nearly everything of worth and start over. It demonstrates a changing of the guard of who's in charge. Should have done it last off-season if not last trade deadline. Whether they win 40 games or 60 games, who cares at this point.

Need to put more money into the international market and in scouting. Build for 3-4 years from now. That's their only hope.

Heard the Orioles were upset that they could not pull a deal off for Reyes as a pitcher before the trading deadline.

I would rather have Jose Reyes than the Orioles Jace Petersen(INF-OF). Petersen is so bad that he didn't even hit over .200 when he played Little League Baseball.

Orioles taking batting practice off of Yankees Sonny Gray.

No wonder they(Yankees) stocked up on pitchers before the trade deadline.

I still have no idea what the Yankees were thinking when they traded for Gray. It's not like he was coming off a great year. He hadn't been an ace for nearly two years when the Yankees got him.

The Cardinals "cleaning house" has gone as well as I could hope for. After they shed all the dead weight, the team seems to be playing a little better (won 4 out of 6) and the bullpen has been fantastic. Perhaps they have a run in them. Even if they don't, they are at least entertaining and provide hope going into '19.

I don't have terribly high expectations, so any remaining success this year is gravy in my book. I am cautiously hopeful for 2019.

I can't believe Fowler is having such a hard time raising his average to a pathetic .200.

Hindsight is 20/20 of course but when they traded for him he was in the middle of a healthy season and had regained his stride. He had a sub 3.50 ERA when they acquired him. Either way, they didn't trade for him to be an ace, they were expecting a dependable #3. They had good reason to trade for him when they did - I don't think anyone expected this sort of disastrous season.

Re: 2018 MLB Week 18 Jul 30-Aug 5

I'm loving this new Cardinals team compared to the "old" one.

They came back in the 9th to take 3 of 4 from the Rockies, one of the teams they're chasing in the Wild Card standings.

O'Neill playing in place of Fowler displayed some incredible defense, making a few plays that Fowler probably doesn't come close to making. He also drove in the first run of the game on a sac fly, which is something else that Fowler probably wouldn't have done. Bader, in CF now that Pham is gone, stole 2nd base in the 9th and proceeded to score the winning run. And Jose Martinez, who was as good as gone in all the trade deadline speculation delivered the walk-off hit. And a couple more terrific innings from the new-look bullpen including a guy they picked up from the Yankees last week.

Keep it up, Redbirds!

Dodgers hammering the Brewers, glad to see them hitting again after a few games where they weren't doing much of anything.

So there is a World Series rematch this weekend between Houston and LA Dodgers and all FS1 and ESPN care about is Yankees vs Red Sox.

I just love how Yanks-Red Sox is some how consider "regional coverage" on the West Coast when there is another game that actually has a team from the West coast playing.
