Antonio Brown and Kamara were drafted before him. I was thinking I was going to have to choose between Barkley, Kamara, and maybe Zeke, but it was between Johnson, Barkley, and Zeke. I went Johnson. We'll see how he does this season...

I'd would've picked Johnson as well. I'm at #6 in my next draft so I figure I'll have to choose between Barkley and Kamara. Like brainee, I have a real soft spot for Kamara after I had him last year, but I'll probably go with Barkley. But you never know what'll happen when humans draft, and this league has some variety in fantasy experience.

Re: Fantasy Football Talk 2018

Can you survive with JuJu Schuster as your WR#1 in a 12 team league?

My other WRs are Jeffrey, Crabtree, Amendola, Edelman, and Sterling Shephard

Jimmy Graham is my TE and he better put up WR numbers

Re: Fantasy Football Talk 2018

My 3 teams. 1st is my main league, 10 team points based, non-PPR, IDP:

1. (8) Alvin Kamara (NO - RB)
2. (13) Julio Jones (Atl - WR)
3. (28) Travis Kelce (KC - TE)
4. (33) T.Y. Hilton (Ind - WR)
5. (48) Lamar Miller (Hou - RB)
6. (53) Jarvis Landry (Cle - WR)
7. (68) Rex Burkhead (NE - RB)
8. (73) Matt Ryan (Atl - QB)
9. (88) Robby Anderson (NYJ - WR)
10. (93) Philip Rivers (LAC - QB)
11. (108) Joey Bosa (LAC - DE)
12. (113) J.J. Watt (Hou - DE)
13. (128) Kwon Alexander (TB - LB)
14. (133) Zach Brown (Was - LB)
15. (148) George Kittle (SF - TE)
16. (153) Nelson Agholor (Phi - WR)
17. (168) Matt Prater (Det - K)
My biggest concern is RBs here. Think I did solid in all other areas.

Here's my work one, 12 team, h2h PPR league:
1. (2) Le'Veon Bell (Pit - RB)
2. (23) Tyreek Hill (KC - WR)
3. (26) Stefon Diggs (Min - WR)
4. (47) JuJu Smith-Schuster (Pit - WR)
5. (50) Brandin Cooks (LAR - WR)
6. (71) Matt Ryan (Atl - QB)
7. (74) Rex Burkhead (NE - RB)
8. (95) Tevin Coleman (Atl - RB)
9. (98) Jack Doyle (Ind - TE)
10. (119) Alex Smith (Was - QB)
11. (122) D.J. Moore (Car - WR)
12. (143) Kenny Golladay (Det - WR)
13. (146) Denver (Den - DEF)
14. (167) Matt Prater (Det - K)
Again, my issue here is RBs. I'm sensing a trend....

Here's my last league. It's wild. 1 RB, 3 WR/TE, 1 OP (QB or RB). 12 team PPR.
6 Alvin Kamara, NO RB
19 Michael Thomas, NO WR
30 Philip Rivers, LAC QB
43 Jared Goff, LAR QB
54 Jarvis Landry, Cle WR
67 Zach Ertz, Phi TE
78 Cooper Kupp, LAR WR
91 Robby Anderson, NYJ WR
102 Broncos D/ST D/ST
115 Sony Michel, NE RB
126 Baker Mayfield, Cle QB
139 Calvin Ridley, Atl WR
150 Marshawn Lynch, Oak RB
163 Chris Boswell, Pit K
I think I did well on this. In 2 QB leagues, QBs fly off the board, so that is why some of the guys are taken way out of their ADP. I think this might be my most well rounded team, partially because my RBs suck after my 1st one here, but I shouldn't ever need to play any of them.

Re: Fantasy Football Talk 2018

Well I fucked up and showed up late to a draft today (didn't take time zone into account), so most of my team was already auto drafted.

I had the 10th pick and my auto draft got me the following:

Brees
Beckham Jr
Jones
Ertz
Ajayi
Lewis
Thielen
Crabtree
Rivers
Michel
Stills
Murray
Moore

Obviously, RB is pretty weak, so I was willing to trade one of OBJ or Jones for an elite RB1...was rejected by 4 teams (asked for Barkley, Gurley, Cook, and Johnson straight up for either guy) and then some guy offered Royce Freeman for Jones. I'm very high on Freeman, but that's probably still an overpay, but it feels like one I have to do...another guy offered me Kenyan Drake and Sterling Shepherd for Jones. Which deal do y'all like better, if either?

Yeah, I don't see you having much luck in dealing OBJ or Julio (assuming that's who Jones is) who are going around the turn of the first/second for a RB who went in the top half of the first (not sure about Cook--in one league, I drafted OBJ at 10 and Cook at 15). They would've drafted OBJ if they'd wanted him. So that's why you're looking at offers of guys who were drafted lower, like Royce Freeman and Drake. Could you inquire about guys who were mid-second-round picks like Devonta Freeman or (less likely) Christian McCaffrey? Then you go down to Mixon and Jordan Howard, but they also seem not worthy of Julio.

Alternatively you could try to package Julio with Ajayi or Dion Lewis and see what you could get. Maybe Gordon or Hunt? Again, it seems like you're offering a lot, but you have three top-20 receivers so it makes sense to try to diversify those assets. Another difficulty is that opinions of Julio run hot and cold. I was kind of burned by him last year, but he should still pile up the yardage, and just a few more TDs would make him top tier again. You just have to find someone who believes in him.

He must be playing in a 8 team league

What is the opinion on Mark Ingram?

I drafted him as a bench stash and Kamura with his size can't handle a full workload every week.

Wentz, Jeffrey, McCaffrey, and Ingram are on almost all my teams.

Re: Fantasy Football Talk 2018

This is my last draft of the year. It's a 12 team league that's basically a touchdown league. You get 1 point for every 25 yards rushing or receiving, 1 point for every 50 yards passing, 4 points per passing TD and 6 pts per rushing/receiving TD. You can also start any legal lineup. You can start 5 WRs, but no more than 3 RBs or 3 TEs in your lineup. I'm not crazy about my draft. Every player I liked once again went right before me. Kamara went right before me so I drafted Hopkins. All the really good sleepers went early in the 9th and 10th rounds....

QB Carson Wentz
OP DeAndre Hopkins
OP Michael Thomas
OP Royce Freeman
OP Josh Gordon
OP Marshawn Lynch
D/ST Eagles
K Wil Lutz

Bench Rex Burkhead
Bench Robby Anderson
Bench Adrian Peterson
Bench Dak Prescott
Bench David Njoku
Bench Aaron Jones
Bench Corey Clement

Re: Fantasy Football Talk 2018

Our league draft was last night and I'll post my team later, but I want to vent a little.

My league has been using ESPN since 2004. Our league has been happy with the site even though it had it share of hiccups. The aesthetic is a big plus for us.

As the League Commissioner, one of the tool, the Offline Draft app, has been a blessing for me. This app downloaded the scoring and draft order from our league and was a virtual draft board while I made the pick for the league. It had a player boards, a roster board and features like a timer, pause and unpause the draft. After the draft, I could upload the results with one click of the button to the ESPN site. For our draft, our league members actually get together once a year and hold a live draft. This app made it possible to project it to a screen and get interactive while making our selection.

But guess what we found out when we were at the draft? ESPN discontinued the app this year without freaking telling anybody. Our draft was hectic to say the least, as I had to scramble to make an Excel spreadsheet for our picks and had to input manually each of the players into the site as years before. It's my fault for not checking earlier but still no announcement that this tool was gone from ESPN. It took us double the time to finish the draft.

I'm so pissed! Did you guys had any issues with it like me?

Re: Fantasy Football Talk 2018

I haven't used the offline app. For many years, my league did offline drafts, but then the secretary (often me) had to input the results, which wasn't superfun.

As for Mark Ingram, I haven't drafted him yet, but he's still rated highly despite the missed games. I wouldn't mind taking him at the right spot, but of course I'd need to make sure I had coverage at the start of the season. I had both him and Kamara last year, and they were awesome, but there's always the risk that Ingram will be rusty or won't get the same kind of job share back.

Re: Fantasy Football Talk 2018

I went ahead and picked up both Breida and Morris in every league that I could. I dropped Adrian Peterson in one league to pick them up. I figured they would have more fantasy value.

Re: Fantasy Football Talk 2018

For a league that hasn't drafted yet (mine is tomorrow), what do you think is the time to start thinking about Breida and Morris now (non-PPR for me)? It seems unclear how the work load will be divied up so I'm thinking it best to be conservative ... maybe something in the RB 25-30 range for both? That's in the neighborhood of other questionable starters like Hyde, Carson, Barber, Crowell, Jamaal Williams, Kerryon Johnson, and whoever the hell you think might be starting for the Patriots Does that reasonable? Any of you feel strongly that either Breida or Morris is the guy to get (between the two)?

Matthew Berry like Morris better. He has him as RB 20 and thinks you should draft him in the 5th/6th round.

Re: Fantasy Football Talk 2018

Matt Maiocco the 49ers beat writer says Morris will be the early down back and Breida might spell him on 3rd downs.

I don't think Breida has the body to carry a full load.

I dropped Ekeler for Morris and now watch Ekeler go off this season.

Re: Fantasy Football Talk 2018

I wasn't that high on him either, but in one draft where I took OBJ at 10, I needed to stock up at RB and took him. Fortunately my first back is Dalvin Cook, so no injury risk there.

Re: Fantasy Football Talk 2018

I think the best strategy is not to draft a defense and stream the D that plays the Bills offense that week.

I bet picking up the Lions D vs Sam Darnold is going to backfire on me since the Jets in 2017 always showed up when I streamed a defense against their team.

Re: Fantasy Football Talk 2018

12 Team PPR Money League 4 keepers, picked 12th each round (2 rb, 2 wr, 1 flex)

QB - Russell Wilson, Marcus Mariotta (last pick)
RB - Le'Veon Bell, David Johnson, Melvin Gordon, Nick Chubb, Chris Thompson
WR - Jarvis Landry, Golden Tate, Sterling Shepherd, Rishard Matthews, Cameron Meredeth
TE - Jimmy Graham
Def - Vikings
K - Jake Elliott.

Kept Bell, Johnson, Gordon and Landry. Yahoo figures I will go 13-0 and gave me an A+ grade but figure that is based mostly on my 3 keeper RB
