It's too bad the AL couldn't find an SS named Jose to start. Would have been the all Jose infield!

His own family had barely heard of him a few weeks ago. He's on a crazy power streak this season, much like Bellinger had early last year.

It really should be Muncy ... I think Rosario is most deserving in the AL .. but suspect he will not get it because Twins.

I think this internet voting thing is more about how many Millennial fans each team has, because it has produced some surprising results over the years.

Mariners pulled James Paxton in the first but it turns out it was only back tightness rather than something arm-related.

Went to see the class A Everett AquaSox (Mariners affiliate) play the Giants’ affiliate, and I recognized one of the names in the Volcanoes’ lineup: catcher Joey Bart, who was the second overall pick out of Georgia Tech last month. After going 0-3, he hit a Kong shot out to straightaway center, his sixth homer in seven games at short-season A ball. He might be ready for the next level.

Re: 2018 MLB Week 15 Jul 9-15

I think Bryce Harper may be benched tomorrow for not running out a double play grounder tonight. Dave Martinez has been an absolute disaster as manager, fans are now begging for them to bring Dusty back. Martinez is in way over his head.

The poor season is getting to Harper. He's costed himself likely $150 million and they are now playing him in center, which he is simply not capable of playing beyond spot duty.

He's retiring at the end of this season. Dodgers are coming to Philly July 23-25 and this will probably help sell more tickets. He's gotten standing ovations and curtain calls in prior visits, even when hitting homeruns to beat the Phillies.

Matheny is out.

The Cubs/Brewers should now be worried.

I had just told someone today that he wasn't going to survive past the break.

I have no idea how he was as a game manager, but that team has had some problems for a while. Roster construction has had some flaws as well.

Shin-Soo Choo drew a walk in the first inning to extend his consecutive games on base streak to 51. He's been phenomenal at the plate this season.

The Giants lost their first Home series since April 9th. They had not won them all since April, they split two but that is a pretty impressive streak.

The Cubs managed to climb into first before the break, if they can get through the first week back still in first that would be nice.

The Mariners are taking on water fast. The All-Star break couldn’t have come at a better time. On the other hand, they’ve been sort of doing it with mirrors anyway, with a 58-39 record and -2 run differential.

Does Choo have any trade value, or would they just be dumping his contract?

Top record and run differential in the league. They’ve had some problems this season, but it’s still a darn good team with upwards potential.

I would think he has some, depending on how much contract the Rangers would be willing to pay, I think some teams would see his value, the guy can hit, get on base, LH bat, has some power, probably do not want him in the OF too much. So probably limited to the AL

he has 2 years at $21M/year after this season. If the Rangers ate around half of it and some team really needed him due to injury, they might get a decent prospect for him. He is 36, not a bad age for a DH/part time outfielder at $10M-ish/year.

From what I read he has a limited no trade clause, but I would think he would be happy going to a contender.
