Re: New Pro Football League(s) Thread

If a new league had the bucks to sign some of the big college guys like the AFL did with Joe Namath maybe someday they could be successful

Maybe the XFL should target the big star or stars in college and sign him or them to a $80 or 100 million contract and offer more money up front than the 5 year rookie contracts the NFL has to offer and maybe that is the only way they can maybe be successful.

Re: New Pro Football League(s) Thread

According to NBC Sports website,XFL Commish Oliver Luck said that his league will have three different point after touchdown options(with no kicking).

1 point from the 2 yard line.

2 points from the 5 .

3 points from the 10.

Plus(according to ESPN website) the XFL wants to do an NHL type OT with 2-point conversion shootouts with both teams getting 5 opportunities that way the game's will still be played around 3 hours.

OT sounds interesting. It's too bad the NFL is clueless with their OT rules and it's so unfair that both teams don't get a chance to score a TD.

Re: New Pro Football League(s) Thread

Here's yet another new upcoming Spring Pro Football League(according to Wikipedia and league website):

AMERICAN PATRIOT LEAGUE(APL)

It was supposed to start this spring but now planned for spring of 2020.

Teams:
Daytona Beach,FLA
Mobile,ALA
Sacramento,CAL
Shreveport,LA
Canton,OH
Houston,TX
Ypsilanti,MI
8th team(TBA)

Fans will get to pick team nicknames.

I think the Freedom Football League has a better chance of getting off the ground.

According to 710 AM ESPN Seattle, the XFL has filed trademark applications for 5 potential nicknames for the Seattle team:
Wild
Force
Fury
Dragons
Surge

No thanks . I would have thought they could come up with better names.

They're still going through with the XFL?
So they didn't learn from their own mistake and aren't even learning from someone else's mistake. "This time it's different!"

They(XFL) seemingly are getting everything in place to start early next year.

Other new league's haven't been making any headlines so I doubt they get off the ground(Freedom Football League,American Patriot League ,Pacific Pro Football).
