The Mariners at 37-22, are in sole possession of first place the latest in a season since August of 2003. Let's hope this season ends better than the '03 season did. Repeal the teal.

The crazy thing is they've had their best winning stretch after Cano was suspended. The schedule gets tougher, though, and they've won a lot of one-run games so they'll need to keep that going.

Still a few weeks to go and you never know when a guy will go through a rough patch but as of right now, Verlander is the starter, hands down.

Cards first round draft pick today was born in 2000. First ever born in that year, if I read correctly.

I'm We're getting old.

I saw one analysis that the Mariners have had one of the weaker schedules so far in all of baseball for one of the playoff contenders.

I'd feel more confident about the Mariners as a team if Felix Hernandez pitches like he did five years ago.

Don't look now but the Dodgers are finally back to .500 and only two back in the wretched NL West.

Sad day for St. Louis.

The Reyes injury report, Red's passing and the Cards getting hammered by the Marlins.

Heyward with the walk off Grand Slam. The Cubs really needed that one.

Fuck my life. Ohtani has a grade 2 ucl strain. The Angels knew he had a grade 1 strain when they signed him. But he’s on the shelf for three weeks minimum and TJ surgery is looking like a possibility.

I really believe Angel Stadium was built on some ancient Native American burial ground. So much bad luck for this team.

At least they still have that Trout guy. He’s good I guess.

Big bummer on Ohtani. He was good for the game, and I hadn't even gotten to see him play yet.

Cubs say they're pleased to see improvement with Chatwood after he walks seven in 4-2/3. Six Ks and only one run allowed, though.

When Chatwood is pitching I start drinking early to dull the pain.

Happ had three outstanding catches that saved runs today.

Yeah, Happ came up big. KB leading off might not be a horrible idea. Gets on base and is a hell of a baserunner

They're a division rival but my suggestion, rename them the California Angels again and unretire their glorious 1979-88 uniforms and everything will be copacetic.

Now 40-23, and 20-9 in one-run games. Canít help thinking that latter number is a little bit of a fluke that might get corrected.

Hopefully it’s nothing serious and he responds to the stem cell injections he was given. He’s a great guy and yeah great for the game.
And Chatwood lol. I remember him. Ex Angel.

At least they finally dumped the Anaheim part of the LA name. They started in LA so I’m fine with it.

How about the Mariners, huh? One run magic.

Do you think so, but it seems to me that for Mariners the season will end as always !?

Cubs tossed a 1 hitter (Lester, Wilson, Cishek) ... the one hit was a triple. Odd

Lester pitched another quality start and the defense was once again good today. Nice win and an early series win with a chance for a sweep.
