Looking forward to it as always.

Only negative being that when I get up in the morning, the previous days events will all have been completed.

I hate the huge time gap, more so because it's harder to not get spoiled with results.

But I do love the Winter games 10x more than the Summer.

I can't bring myself to watching/caring about the Olympics, regardless where it is.

Don't really care who wins - anyone but the Patriots.

What? No mixed mass start team alpine curling?

Curling competition (mixed doubles) gets underway tomorrow night at 7p ET.

A guy on the Sports on TV Forum made a really nice and easy-to-follow schedule (much better than trying to use the NBC website) for TV (for USA and CAN). All events are also available live on the NBC Sports App.

Actually it's such a huge time gap that some stuff will be live in the US (including on the West Coast for the first time in ages - thanks for finally figuring this out NBC).

Exactly. The Alpine stuff will be in primetime and a lot of the Nordic and sledding stuff will be around 6a. The timing works really well.

It will not be the same without Bob Costas

Less pink eye. I've barely watched the NBC crappy primetime coverage for years (if I did, I DVR'd it and skipped to actual events). I won't miss him.

Re: 2018 Winter Olympics - PyeongChang, February 9-25

I personally prefer Summer Olympics. But, I'll watch a little of this one. I have several colleagues who are working the Games for NBC and the International feeds.

Not really a Hockey fan, but I do find Olympic Hockey entertaining, especially USA vs. Canada or USA vs. Russia.

Curling I just don't get at all. I know it's a popular European sport (if you can call it that)

I was a big Costas fan and Tirico seems bland and boring to be the face of the network now.

I think this year the primetime coverage will air at 5pm so no tape delay on the West Coast.

Kind of like to see barrel jumping come to the Winter game. Remember watching those on ABC Wide World of Sports. Canada tried to get it officially in the Olympic but were unsuccessful.

Time for some curling. Mixed is interesting - a lot different than regular curling.

Maybe they could fill each barrel with a shark, or would that be too on-the-nose?

It's going to take some time to seeing "OAR" and that = Russia.

USA rolling OAR/RUS now. Follow a steal-1 with a steal-2. Big lead.

Definitely prefer Winter to Summer Olympics. Sports are more high-speed in general, with potential wipe-outs. And this year I can say I skated with one of the competitors; US Speedskater Erin Jackson is also a roller derby player, and I've had to referee for her. Yeah, it was a lot of fun trying to keep up with her...
