Thanks to Davidh777 as I used his poll questions from last year with a minor revision.

Need one more poll option - Don't care either way.

First time in a long time that I'm not a fan of either team. Hopefully the commercials are better this year.

This might be the first Super Bowl I don't watch. I don't think I have the stomach to watch another Patriot team in the biggest game of the year.

Great, the two teams I hate the most. Can we just cancel this SB?

I'm predicting the Eagles, but don't care who wins.

Will Gronk be playing?

Re: 2017 NFL Playoffs Thread -- Super Bowl LII - February 4, 2018

As a Lifelong Eagles fan, I can totally understand not many here rooting for either team in this Superbowl. The Patriots are The Evil Empire, and some of my fellow Eagles fan's behavior has forced to enjoy the games at home instead of at Lincoln Financial.

So maybe I'll phrase it another way for fans on the fence about this Superbowl: Think of the handful of good Eagles fans like me who have never witnessed a Parade in my lifetime (1960 was our last NFL Title). We're the type of fans who hate a base of the Eagles fans who act obnoxious (they are the ones who call in Talk Radio each day), and never defend their idiotic behavior.

Plus, who is sick of Darth Vader and The Emperor winning another Superbowl?

People should think of this in the same way they would have said that a JAX-MIN match-up would have resulted in fewer people watching the game. The good news for all those with a financial interest is that a NE-PHI match-up gains more fans than it loses.

Rooting for the lesser of two evils, so that would be the Eagles. Seeing the media coverage of the Eagles fan base is the only reason for my comment.

I definitely like the Eagles getting 5 1/2.

I don't care who wins. Just want an entertaining game.

Even though the Patriots won last year, it was a really entertaining game.

And if the prospect of rooting for the Eagles for mcnabb doesn't do it for you, how about for me?

Every fan base has their terrible fans. I think it's been way overblown for the Eagles since the Santa snowball incident. Since then it's just been a media trope that Philly gets hammered for, especially compared to equally bad (or worse) behavior of fans of other teams.

I think all the Patriots Superbowls have been entertaining because the game usually comes down to the wire. The Vinatieri kicks, helmet catch, Manningham catch, Butler INT, 28-3 comeback.

I'll hold my nose and root for the Eagles.

99.9% of people on Cowboys blog:

User 1: Between the Patriots & Eagles. (Sigh). Who is everyone rooting for?

User 2: It's the Patriots. No question. Not even a debate.

User 3: Seriously
If I were a mod, I would consider the ban hammer, just for posing the (non) question.

Eagles. I've had enough of the Patriots.
Plus, they managed to completely rebuild their team and get to the SB even with injuries at key positions. Respect. Plus everybody has been crapping on Foles and heís balliní. Sorry peeps, rivalry or not, Iím rooting for the underdog.
I think I'm about to get excommunicated.

I totally get that Cowboys fans would not root for us, as the feeling would be mutual among my Eagles friends. But if it were the Cowboys vs Pats, I would root for the Cowboys. They haven't won anything since 1996 so it's been a long time since they have reached the Superbowl. I'm always rooting for the teams with the longest droughts, as I would have been fine with a Jags vs Vikings Superbowl is we lost. I rooted for the Astros this playoffs, and the Cubs last year, and even the Nashville Predators in the Stanley Cup. I appreciate what the Pats and Brady have done as Greatness is a cool thing to watch in sports, but this is going on 16 years now! It's enough!

^ You do realize that regardless of who votes or doesn't vote for the Eagles - it's totally out of everyone's hands except for the players on the field, right?

It's a toss-up for me. It would be neat to see the Patriots tie my Steelers for SB wins... and it would be incredible to see a 6th SB win for Brady and Belicheck. However, it would also be cool to spread the love and see a team win it that's never won it before.

Win or lose, is this the end for the Patriots dominance? With all the supposed changes coming, is it over?

If the Patriots win, Brady really should retire. He can still play and play well, but why not go out on top as the G.O.A.T. and minimize your future physical pain? Take a position with the team or the league in some capacity and just get involved in other business ventures, etc. The world is his oyster. He can pretty much do anything he wants. Why limit yourself to doing something you've conquered already and sacrifice a your body even more?

No question I want the Eagles to win. I have a bunch of friends from Philly that would be ecstatic if they won, so I'm hoping they get to enjoy that.

Wait, you're a steelers fan and you want the Patriots to tie you for SB wins?

Also that would be the ultimate trolling of Belichek, to push Jimmy G out and then retire right after. Granted, the SB would take some of the pain away.

Guys like Brady don't want to retire until they can't play anymore, as they are just too competitive. Look at Jordan coming out of retirement twice, Lemeiux came out of retirement, even Willie Mays played well past his prime. This is all these guys know, and they are the type of athletes that go nuts after they retire cause they don't know what to do. I remember reading an interview with Jordan and he thought he would love retirement and golf everyday, and then realized that it wasn't fulfilling enough, so he came back to play for the Wizards. Brady will only retire if he gets a career ending injury, or he starts to suck and father time catches up with him.
