WWE acknowledged and paid tribute to Hennig. Did Dynamite get a mention?

Yes, with social media posts linking to the article on the WWE site almost as soon as the news broke out. They mostly touched only on Dynamite's career in Calgary and WWF

Re: The 2018 Pro Wrestling Thread.

The WWE Network is really lacking in anything concerning the AWA and I don't know how much footage they have of Larry Hennig but you figure sooner or later they would show more programming. They should have plenty concerning the 1980s and Hulk Hogan.

Re: The 2018 Pro Wrestling Thread.

Based on Raw Monday looks like the plan for WM is Rollins vs Lesnar. If that's the case,I suspect Ronda vs Becky or Ronda vs Charlotte is going to be the WM Main Event. Don't think Rollins is over enough or big enough a star to where they will want him in the ME,I also think 3 WM Main Event's with a Shield Member against Lesnar is excessive.

Re: The 2018 Pro Wrestling Thread.

I think Rollins is the most over guy on the roster, which isn't saying much at this point, but a win over Lesner would push him up into a status that they don't have on the roster right now.

I haven't watched SD this week but I saw something about climate change being one of his motivations?

Not sure if this is the reason, but Bryan asking Ali "what kind of car do you drive?" and Ali answering "An SUV...I got a wife and two kids..." and then Bryan starts slapping the shit out of him while screaming "ignorant!"

That was beautiful. And I'm not even on his side, but he's not wrong.

Since ratings have gown down the toilet, WWE has gone back to promote the same old shit to boost ratings: Vince McMahon.

Re: The 2018 Pro Wrestling Thread.

So a roster shake up or getting rid of the brand split altogether?

Last time was Vince announcing the Evolution PPV which was a weird choice for him to be brought out to announce anything for Women's wrestling.

Re: The 2018 Pro Wrestling Thread.

Apparently, WWE has something big planned for January.

https://411mania.com/wrestling/wwe-r...-ratings-2019/

On a recent edition of Wrestling Observer Live, Bryan Alvarez claimed that he’s been told that WWE has a “master plan” to allegedly turn things around for the company in 2019. As previously reported, last Monday’s edition of Raw only drew approximately 2.194 million viewers, which was a record low viewership for the show.

According to Alvarez, there is a “belief within WWE” that they will be able to turn ratings around for the company again starting in January 2019. He added, “Something big is going to happen.” What that “big” event WWE has planned is still an absolute mystery.

You can read Alvarez’s comments from the show (courtesy of RingsideNews.com) below:

“For those of you who hate Raw, all I’m going to do is tell you that the belief within WWE is that — take this for what it’s worth — they believe it is all turning around in January. Apparently, they have some sort of idea and they think it’s all turning around in January and that the ratings in January are going to be good again. The show is going to be better and something big is going to happen.”

“Of course, everybody is going to be speculating all sorts of crazy things. Young Bucks, this, that. Don’t get your hopes up, everybody.”

“I don’t know what they’re thinking, but they seem to believe that in January, this thing’s turning around.”

This is the only thing that will ever turn it around, and it just isn't going to happen again.

The only thing that would draw me back in at this point is if by some miracle they got Punk to agree to re-sign. Unfortunately that's more than likely never going to happen.

Re: The 2018 Pro Wrestling Thread.

Between both shows there are probably only three or four personalities that I don't routinely FF through any more, and Daniel Bryan ain't one of them (he bores the hell out of me). I'm sure much of it has to do with the nature of the show over the past ??? years now. The parameters it lives within means it takes a special talent to create anything noteworthy, and those have been few and far between. I hope they really plan a fundamental change and it isn't just about some quick gimmick or minor roster moves.

Sounds like they're bringing Vince Russo back.

Most likely are dusting off another round of stars from the past. That seems to be WWE's go to card when things are down. Let me guess, Ric Flair vs Hulk Hogan at the 2019 Royal Rumble.

I actually have heard rumors of Shawn Michaels returning to face Daniel Bryan. Wouldn’t be all that surprising if it’s true since he did appear in that match with Triple H against Undertaker and Kane. I don’t think that’s enough to really shake things up the way that article is talking though.

This is a great, old school NWA style match. This isn't, "Sports Entertainment," it's Pro Wrestling...

Re: The 2018 Pro Wrestling Thread.

Was it me or was the whole exchange between Corey and Renee about Dean's mood when he comes home awkward? Not that I watch Raw much but do they openly talk about them being married?
