Except for Triple H ,none of the other members of DX were top notch wrestlers.

World Champ and tag team champs in one stable makes it a solid stable even without taking into account their impact on the business at a whole.

He was probably referring to the original DX.

Wasn't Michaels a founder along with Rick Rude and Chyna, until he got hurt? Or are you referring to the Xpac/New Age Outlaws era?

I would personally rank Bullet Club in the top 10. I mean it's basically a New Japan faction that became insanely popular over here (when has that ever happened?), crossed over to multiple promotions, and has a lingering remnant in the WWE which everyone hopes they someday acknowledge beyond that brief Balor Club reunion.

The Dangerous Alliance under appreciated even then. All they lacked was a World Title and maybe a longer run together.

Yes you are right. Michaels, HHH, Rude and Chyna.

Sean Waltman was a top notch wrestler. So was Rick Rude.

Rude wasn't a wrestler at the time. He was Michaels "bodyguard" at the time.

Speaking of Rude, have any of you guys heard the rumor that Honkey Tonk Man and others have spreading around about Rude's death? According to them, Rude committed suicide because he had become impotent due to steroid abuse and because Rude was injecting steroids directly to his penis. WTF?!?

Re: The 2018 Pro Wrestling Thread.

A) All In seemed great on paper. I love the nwa title change and billy n Cody teaming up. I agree, it feels as though they are playing the long game towards legitimacy and profitability in the business. Multiple wrasslin' companies make a better product, so I'm curious to see where it leads. Didn't watch the show though, but like that Jericho is still pushing towards being considered a GOAT. I'm sincerely curious to see if a wrestling promotion can develop and thrive in the modern world.

B) the greatest faction ever was the Kliq. From everything that I have ever read, those four dudes have defined wrestling after the MSG event throughout the last twenty years. Michaels as the definitive 90s champ, hall n Nash creating the nWo, and hHh consistently pushing himself towards the top of the business. I wish I could hear their conversation as they hugged in the center of that ring, because wrestling changed that night and they have been in control (in some form or another) since that hug.

C) the product is stale, yes. But we old doggies complain because we don't think it's going our way. But while on Instagram tonight, 3 of the 7 wwe streaming posts had polls. How many of us voted? I think they are making decisions via social media and its influence. We can complain all we want on dvdtalk or rajah, but it is not the direction that the company is listening too. Us 30+ Lifers who will watch regardless and in lessening numbers...or the next gen viewers who will keep them afloat throughout the 20s. Vince is an ego, but I think he has allowed and gave control to matters he doesn't quite understand. Bottom line is that they are more profitable than ever...no matter the content...so why tighten his grip.

Questions...was Ajs wife n kid a plant? I can't imagine him, being a Christian, would allow his family to be brought into that on air madness.

Did they ruin the demon Balor? Or was the squash Meant to be a warning that all future demons would be unstoppable?

Will watch hell in cell than cancel my membership

The Kliq was never a wrestling faction.

I know that, but he didn't specify as "only during their DX run". Also the New Age Outlaws were a pretty damn good tag team. Chyna was really the only weak link in DX's history.

Re: The 2018 Pro Wrestling Thread.

I don't know why wrestling doesn't go against that trope more, since it makes for interesting storytelling and character development. For example, I remember way back in early/mid 90s WCW. Lex Luger turned heel but he was trying to stay friends with Sting, telling him that the other stuff going on with his professional life doesn't come in the way of their friendship. I don't remember how it turned out, but it's probably pretty safe to guess that Luger betrayed Sting at some point
The Sting/Luger angle actually had a payoff: The Crow Sting. Luger doubting Sting's loyalty and alliance is what lead Sting to go into WarGames, clean the ring and walk out of WCW and then come back as the Crow Sting.
Wrong storyline. The one that he is talking about was when Luger first came back after Niro started and him and Sting were tag team champs while Luger was also working with the Dungeon of Doom against Hogan. Sting wanted to know what side he was on and Luger said that it wouldn't effect their friendship regardless of what side he was on. I dn't remember the pay off either but I think it was Luger fully turning face to team with Hogan/Savege/Sting against the Dungeon of Doom at Fall Brawl.

Re: The 2018 Pro Wrestling Thread.

None of those recent factions belong on a list like this. Everything after Evolution doesn't compare.

I'd rank these guys higher than Shield, New Day, Evolution, Nexus, Undisputed Era.

When you look at the lineup of stars they had, they are one of the most underated stables of all time. Except for Bobby and Heyman, everyone else is in the WWE Hall of Fame.

And both Bobby (Midnight Express) and Heyman will make it in eventually.
