ESPN still has their rights. So will be 3 networks covering the NFL Draft.

From what I read, Fox will by jointly producing the draft coverage. To me, that screams simulcast of the NFL Network one.

That's what I thought too. Still two versions of the draft, but adding Fox people to the NFL Network one.

If anyone cares the NFL Network will re-air the Colts @ Bills snow game from 2017 at 10am PT.

Worth watching just for the visuals and probably the most snow in a NFL game since 2013.

Re: Official 2018 NFL Off-Season Thread

NY Post is reporting the Jets are going to pursue Kirk Cousins hard and are willing to pay a heavy front loaded contract that could pay him $60M for 2018.

That would have to be the most insane single year contract for any U.S. professional sport.

It's fucking Kirk Cousins...OMG. The money they're paying.

Yes, it will be a multi-year deal, but they are expected to heavily front load it for 2018.

That would be an insane 1-year salary for him.

It is totally insane, but if they can take the cap hit and it gives them an affordable good QB for, say, years 2-5, it might make sense.

Yeah it's a bold strategy. Jets have a ton of cap space this year and there aren't many places they can dump it this year anyway. So take a $60 million cap hit this year to lower the hit in subsequent years. It's far too much money for Cousins but in a vacuum, this is not a bad strategy.

Re: Official 2018 NFL Off-Season Thread

The Jets were not the worst team in the NFL in 2017 like all the idiots in the media predicted so going there would be better than AZ or the Browns though the best optons would be the Vikings and Broncos.

Good acquisition by the Rams. They had some depth problems at CB and a few late season injuries to that position.

One of their CB's Kayvon Webster ruptured his Achilles late last season, so this definitely helps. Who knows when Webster will be ready.

This gives them a better #1 at the position that's for sure.

I'm still waiting to hear what the Chiefs will get for him, probably just draft picks.

We'll see what the price they paid was but the Rams just got themselves a great player. This certainly helps push them further into 'contender' territory.

Wow, really surprised the Chiefs gave up on Peters. He's all-NFL level talent, albeit with a 5 cent brain.

Re: Official 2018 NFL Off-Season Thread

I was excited to see him and Kendall Fuller on the same team along with Eric Berry returning from injury, it could have been a great secondary. He had major issues this past year being a hothead, and the Chiefs didn't want to sign him to a long term deal in two years. They need a decent replacement for him in his place though.

good for the next season and maybe next. they keep acquiring young talented players who will eventually need to be paid lots of money. basically going for it the next year or two, because these talented guys will all come due at similar times and the rams won't be able to afford them all.

Dammit, I gotta know what the Chiefs got for him. No matter how immature a guy he is, talent like that is a rare find, especially outside of the top 10-12 picks. He will be hard to replace.
Nobody gives up a first, even for Jimmy G, but the Chiefs had better gotten at least a 2nd and 4th -- even then, I don't know what they do with their secondary.

this is a weird one, former dolphin jonathan martin (the one bullied by richie incognito) was arrested for kind of making a school shooting threat on his instagram.

Its really bizarre, I think the LAPD detained him for questioning. Also today Sports Talk Radio went insane here in town over the Peters trade making excuses for his behavior, and trashing the Chiefs front office for trading him. Also there was supposed to be an announcement over what the Chiefs were getting for him, but nothing was announced. The Chiefs should at least get the #1 round pick from the Rams.

Deal finalized yesterday and it's only draft picks. No details yet, it probably won't be disclosed until the new league year begins March 14th.

However, the Rams don't have a 2nd round pick because they traded it to the Bills for Sammy Watkins.

Re: Official 2018 NFL Off-Season Thread

News just showed up on my Facebook, Adam Schefter reports The Chiefs are getting the Rams 4th and 7th round picks this year and their 3rd round pick in 2019 for Peters. This was reported on The Chiefs Kingdom Facebook page.
