It's pretty obvious as to what is going on here. This decision was already made weeks or month ago. Herm Edwards used ASU AD Ray Anderson as his agent. They are friends. This is nothing but cronyism at its finest.

Looks like Jimbo Fisher to TA&M is a done deal

This is crazy to me. I thought he was just leveraging A&M for a better deal at FSU. A&M is not a better program than FSU. Plus now he has to fight his way out of the meat grinder that is the SEC, while in the ACC he only really had to worry about Clemson.

The only way this makes sense is if he is at odds with the AD or some other people behind the scenes at FSU.

Phillip Fulmer will be named AD at Tennessee. I was really hoping for Leach, but maybe Phil can land a great new coach.

Holy shit, Jimbo Fisher got 10 years, $80 million guaranteed. Pretty sure that's the reason he bolted. I would too for that kind of money.

USC wins the PAC 12 championship, the first time a team from the South wins it and I'm now 99% sure Darnold is gone since he can put that on his college resume.

Sounds like he's going to owe FSU between $5 and $7 million of it. His contract states that if he leaves before his contract is up he has to pay the remaining salaries for any assistant that is not retained.

Willie Taggert sounds like he will be FSU's #1 target, but will he leave Oregon and that sweet, sweet Nike money?

Kind of shitty that the news leaked during his game and then they were asking him about it right after the game.

The only upside to this is that they can fire Edwards and Anderson at the same time in a few years when this goes horribly wrong.

As both a Die Hard Jets fan, and an ASU Alumni- I am appalled at this hiring.

I guess this could work out with Edwards, but in my informal poll of ASU alumni, most of my family and friends, all but 1 absolutely hate the hire.

Herm " I play the game to win Edwards" had his QB with a torn rotator cuff (his back up qb was missing on a coke bender) kneel twice to lose yardage rather than pound the ball with his bruising running back (Lamont Jordan) and put a game winning FG attempt closer than it wound up being. Instead his kicker had to try a longer field goal (at almost the same distance that he missed a couple of minutes prior) and the game was lost in OT. Lost almost all respect for Herm at that point. The remaining respect was lost the following season when he asked for a contract extension in the middle of a 4-12 disaster of a season knowing that he wouldn't renewed, and would then try to force his team to trade him for picks to Kansas City. The man is a fraud

Looks like Arkansas will hire Chad Morris
If he can recruit Texas it might work
