Hopefully the Saints hand the Rams another loss. A lot of games on the schedule this week that could have been good if teams hadn't lost their starting QB's.

Might end up with 5-6 games at double-digit spreads at kickoff. No doubt a big teaser week in Vegas on favorites.

I know Revis is pretty much past his prime, but any help in the secondary will be welcomed right now. I don't have much faith they can beat Buffalo this weekend.

While Broncos/Raiders is an AFC matchup and the Ravens are also AFC, the other three AFC North cities as well as all of the AFC East cities are getting Rams/Saints.

Fortunately, I get Rams/Saints. This will only be the second Rams game to be televised here all year (that I can recall anyway) and the first one was the week 2 Thursday night game, before anyone realized that the Rams were actually worth watching this year.

4 refs couldn't see that obvious McKinnon down by contact? Good lord.

Re: 2017 NFL Regular Season Thread -- Week 12

Will Mathew Stafford(the greatest NFL QB of all time that hasn't done a damn thing) be the first QB ever inducted into the Pro Football HOF without winning a playoff game?

Did Sonny Jurgensen (mostly w/Redskins) ever win a playoff game? He played for the Eagles in the early 1960s and that was before my time.

Jurgenson never started a playoff game.

He backed up Norm Van Brocklin in 1960 when the Eagles won the NFL title but did not take the field. He backed up Billy Kilmer for the Redskins playoff appearances in 1971, 1973, and 1974. The Redskins went 0-3 in those games.

Jurgenson only saw the field in the 1974 game (other than holding for place kicks) when the 40 year old backup was subbed in during the 4th quarter for Kilmer with the Redskins trailing 13-10 against the LA Rams. Jurgenson went 6-12 for 78 yards and 0 TDs and had 3 of his 12 attempts intercepted (including a pick 6) as the Rams went on to win 19-10. Jurgenson retired during the off-season and was inducted into the NFL Hall of Fame in 1983.

Love it when a guy has enough yards for a first down then loses it by running backward.

The Vikings should have won by more than 7 points.

Two weeks in a row the Cowboy's opponents lost their kicker early in the game, and yet they couldn't capitalise on it either time.

And you can now officially stick a fork in the entire NFC East in the wildcard race. I was thinking that was atypical but then I went and looked and, other than last year, there hasn't been an NFC East wildcard team since 2008-2009.

The NFC East has been a horrendous division for a decade and I say that as a lifelong Eagles. The problem is you have 2 meddling owners in Jerry Jones and Daniel Snyder whose teams havenít made a serious playoff run in 20 years. The Eagles and Giants have been the only oneís who have atleast made a Conference Championship game in the past 2 decades with only Giants winning 2 Superbowls.

I think of the era I grew up in the late 80ís/early 90ís when you had Gibbs, Parcells, Buddy and Jimmy Johnson and they NFC East won 7 Superbowls from 1986-95.

But Jerry Jones was just inducted into the HOF after his team won 2 playoff games over the previous 20 seasons. So that must be good, right?

I was wondering is Jimmy Johnson on the Cowboys Wall of Fame, or is his relationship with Jones going to keep him off forever? The team has never been the same since Johnson left in 1994 as Switzer won the Super Bowl with his team. Yes the Cowboys have a good regular season every few years where they win 12-13 games, but I think the NFL is built for teams to do this through scheduling, Salary cap, etc. The bottom line is the cream of the crop rise in the playoffs and the Cowboys have done nothing in January since their Super Bowl in 1996.

I didn't watch a second of the Skins game - how did the stands look? I have to think no better than 1/2 full.

Re: 2017 NFL Regular Season Thread -- Week 12

Seriously dudes, the "Jerry is a meddling owner" meme died about 5 years ago. Jerry is GM in name only, it's Stephen Jones and Will McClay who run football operations. The issue now is that Dak seems completely lost without Zeke and the coaches have failed to help him. The Cowboys will play ok in the first half, but invariably shit the bed in the 3rd quarter, losing sizeable leads and/or letting the other team take a big lead. Halftime adjustments? That's on coaching.

I've always supported Garrett, because he's brought structure and a clear, consistent approach which players have bought into. But as an actual coach during games, I've come to realize that he just isn't that good. Another example, Dak was sacked 9 times two weeks ago and 6 times by Adrian Clayborn who completely abused left tackle Chaz Green (Tyron Smith was hurt). And they never bothered giving Green help??? Then there's the lack of second half adjustments mentioned above. And there's the failure to compensate for Zeke's absence. They've gone from 28 pts/game with Zeke to 7 pts/game without. Zeke is good but come on... I’ve seen plenty of coaches do so much more with much less talent, regardless of injuries/suspensions.

Re: 2017 NFL Regular Season Thread -- Week 12

The Cowboys problems this year is their amazing O-line is very inconsistent (partially due to injury). They had issues earlier in the season too, and not surprisingly Zeke had bad performances in those games. Their offense is very reliant on how well their O-line performs.

Their defense keeps shitting the bed, so they're not helping the situation.

Without Zeke, their backs and receivers seem pretty ordinary, even Dez.
