Re: 2017 NFL Regular Season Thread -- Week 11

Guess a lot of folks in LA and MIN are concerned about Olsen doing their game. It definitely is weird to have an active player covering games that his team will play later in the season.

He's not going to be involved in the meetings with the teams/coaches the broadcasters typically have before the games, so it's much ado about nothing.

I was hearing people that would know what's available during a broadcast saying that there could potentially be material (A/V or written) in the broadcast booth that he wouldn't ever be able to see or hear otherwise.

Re: 2017 NFL Regular Season Thread -- Week 11

I think it's at least a potentially legitimate complaint. Don't know why Fox doesn't assign him to another game with teams he won't meet this season or post-season.
Bet there will be a new rule next year prohibiting active players from being in a broadcast booth during the season.

Or even teams the Panthers have already played this season. Pretty easy to do given the options available this week.

Yeah, it's stupid to put him on a game with teams he later plays. I've been in an NFL announcing booth. There's all kinds of charts and "Intel" in there they could be advantageous for him. Would he seek it out or take or memorize it? Probably not, but why present the opportunity when there are other games?

Re: 2017 NFL Regular Season Thread -- Week 11

I agree that is a weird scenario. I could maybe understand if he was done for the season, but for a guy who is practicing and will be back in a couple of weeks? Not sure why, but that rubs me the wrong way.

Re: 2017 NFL Regular Season Thread -- Week 11

The Jaguars will probably win that division.

Saints @ Rams in week 12 is flexed to the late game doubleheader on CBS.

Of course it will not air in the Bay Area because the 49ers and Raiders play at the same time.

The SNF game for that week is Packers @ Steelers.

The Week 12 schedule gets a little jucier in the late afternoon slot, with New Orleans' matchup against the Los Angeles Rams moving to 4:25 p.m. ET on CBS. The move, however, means the Rams-Saints won't be flexed to Sunday Night Football, as some had speculated it could have. In the same week, Tennessee at Indianapolis stays in the 1 p.m. slot but moves to FOX.

Fitzgerald signed a 1 year contract extension for 2018 season. Doesn't mean he'll play (salary cap reasons for deal), but I think he comes back.

Jameis Winston is now being accused of groping a Uber driver.

Can you trust a guy who does this?

Boring game so far with Chiefs and Giants. 6-3 with the Giants in the lead.

Re: 2017 NFL Regular Season Thread -- Week 11

Probably the Rams toughest opponent so far this season.

The Vikings defense has been tough on Goff.

Re: 2017 NFL Regular Season Thread -- Week 11

My choices are Rams-Vikings or Ravens-Packers. The former sounds more appealing.

Re: 2017 NFL Regular Season Thread -- Week 11

Kupp’s fumble at the one in the first half hurt. They could have been up 14-7.

Considering that and several dropped passes along with the Vikings missed FG, the Rams are lucky it’s 7-7 right now.

Terrible attempt by Forbath. I'm playing against him this week, and he has negative-1 so far.
