Re: 2017 MLB Playoffs, World Series Edition
Nice of MLB to let two National League teams play in the World Series.
I grew up during the Big Red Machine era, rooting for the hometown Rose-Bench-Morgan-Perez-Sparky Reds and hating their main NL West rivals, the Cey-Yeager-Garvey-Lopes-Lasorda Dodgers. Even before the Browns, and now the Steelers, rose to their rightful place as the most despised teams in the sporting Universe, it had always beat LA. Beat LA. Beat. L. A.
Go Astros. Beat L.A.

GO ASTROS!!!!! We'll be at game 4! I know the Dodgers have been like a freight train in the playoffs, but I think it will be pretty competitive. Astros in 7!! Hopefully the broadcast bias won't be as bad as it was during the Yankees series.

I'll predict this: it's going to be a high-scoring World Series, unless either Kershaw or Verlander play "lights out." It really may come down to who can hit the game-winning home run.

I'm as dodger blue as anyone, I practically grew up at Dodger stadium. We always would be able to get in for free to watch the Dodgers beat up on the Astros, Expos, Padres and Mets in the 70's.
I agree we are going to get a great series and the Stadium is gonna look SPECTACULAR tomorrow if today is any indication.
In addition to the oddity of a Dodgers/Astros World series to me, I find myself without someone to hate (with the yankhees loss). I like Tuuve and the gang, hard not to. At least back in the 70's we loved hating on the Reds almost as much as hating on Frisco.
I'm gonna say Dodgers in 6, but if there is a 7th game, then it will be a toss up.
And now....a voice from the past...Stu Nahan says the dodgers are 2 up on the:
Houston A***oles

Last time the 2014 Sports Illustrated prediction will be in play!

I'm not sure who I'm rooting for. I dislike the Astros from their NL days, and I never liked that SI picked the Astros when the Cubs were up and coming too. On the other hand, I dislike the Dodgers because of their constant stream of money. And yes, I know they didn't re-sign Greinke, but they appear to spend liberally in many other facets of the game. I guess I'll lean Astros in my rooting preference, but the Dodgers look tough to beat.

Dodgers!
So happy they won Game 1. Turner's Home Run was just perfect, after a 2-out walk (like Gibby's).
7.0, 1 ER, 11 K, 0 BB. Can we finally put to bed the myth that Kershaw somehow can't pitch in the Post-Season?

A friend of mine who will drive 20 miles out of his way to pay $1 less for an item at a store is at the game with his wife tonight. They have good seats. $2600 each.

I'd pay $2000+ for a great seat to see the Orioles in a WS game. I've never seen one in person and I was 12 the last time they were in one. I don't expect it to be a decision I'll ever have to make.

If someone feels it's a once-in-a-lifetime experience, I have no problem with their paying through the nose to get that experience.
