It will be interesting to see if Stanton makes a run at 60 homers. He has cooled off considerably in the last two weeks.

These might also be the last games of Ichiro's career. I've noticed the Marlins have been playing him much more this month, possibly as a farewell send-off.

I kinda figured last year was a magical anomaly for Ichiro. Unfortunately a team that wants to win really can't carry him on the roster. I know he's been controversial, but I'll always have good memories of him.

I was reading something about Mitch Haniger and his rookie OPS, and it mentioned that Ichiro's MVP year was .838 or something like that. That didn't sound that great to me for a corner outfielder, but his WAR was 7.5 (only Altuve and Kluber are that high this year, both at 7.8) because of his baserunning and defense.

Yankees and D'Backs have their WC spots pretty much locked up. Yankees still have a shot at the division but I don't think they'll get it with the Red Sox playing good baseball lately.

I think either the Twins or Rockies will lose their spot. So I'll go with the Brewers overtaking the Rockies just for the hell of it.

Jon Lester needs to figure out some things if they want to make the playoffs and win some games there.

Dodgers have lost 20 of their last 25. I'm so over this season already.

Bring on Lakers Basketball and Golden Knight Hockey!

Nice that the team regrouped after falling behind late in the game.

Magic number down to 4!

The call/review on the stolen base was huge.

I guess so.

Dodgers clinch their fifth-straight NL West title and can look forward to their fifth-straight early Playoff exit in a couple weeks' time.

Congrats to Cody Bellinger for setting the NL Rookie HR record with his 39th of the season. And it was so nice that Tommy could be there to celebrate with the Dodgers on his 90th birthday!

It was .. I really wondered why Contreras threw that ball ... I was thinking "eat it" ... shows you what I know, that worked out great.

Re: 2017 MLB Week 25 Sep 18-24

I guess technically it was more of a WP/passed ball than stolen base, but you knew what I meant.

I'm glad the "forced off" argument didn't hold water because Russell appeared to be making a normal tag with the momentum of the ball.

It would have been a travesty if they ruled he forced him off. You can tell when someone forces the runner off and that last night certain was not case.

Magic number is down to 5, the Cards are hanging tough. The series in St. Louis should be a good one.

There is no way that was a force off .. he held the tag well.
