Re: College Football Week 1, 2017.

Whatever happened to the (unwritten ???) rule that college teams didn't play on Friday night's because that was reserved for high school football? Were they not supposed to play within a 25 mile radius(or something) of the nearest high school?

I wouldn't be surprised in the future to see them go head to head with the NFL on Sunday afternoon . Afterall the NFL tv ratings haven't been that great lately.

I noticed on my ESPN home page that Hawaii had beaten Maryland last weekend and thought that was really odd that there were games played between FBS schools nearly a week prior to the Season Kickoff game. Has that happened before? I would have watched if I had known it was being played.

Last year Hawaii played Cal in Australia a week before everybody else started the regular season.

And the following week, after the trip to Australia, Hawaii traveled all the way across the US to play Noon game in Ann Arbor (6AM Hawaii time). Needless to say, they got killed in that game.

But I'm always a fan of trying something different. Most people will call me crazy, but I even think it would be cool if they inverted the colors on the helmet with this look. But most Michigan fans will say it's sacrilege to do anything to the helmet.

To me, it's one game, and recruits love stuff like this. Now I wouldn't ever want us to be Oregon, but a different look for a game or two is no big deal to me, and if it makes us look more attractive to recruits, I'm all for it.

Why not. Gators only have 10 suspended players for the game and counting.

It's so great to see College Football again. It's one of my favorite times of the year.

Debating what to watch.

I will probably flip around the early games, then Notre Dame/Temple, then FL State/Bama

Have no idea how Texas will end up doing, but nice win for the Terps program regardless. Entertaining game.

I don't know what to take away from that game. Florida was garbage.

Re: College Football Week 1, 2017.

Yikes. USC is not looking good. Not that I could even watch them, thanks PAC 12 network.

Edited to add: they score to finally retake the lead, then allow a kick return for a TD. Sam Darnold really doesn't want to get drafted by Cleveland I guess. Western Michigan, with a first time starter at QB. Ugh.

Good ammunition for my annual Sunday Ticket DirecTV haggle call on Monday.

Wow. Jim Mora Jr proves once again why he is one of the best coaches in football.

One of the greatest comebacks I have ever seen.

Amazing comeback.... Texas A & M did their normal season routine in one game! Start off well, then blow their record and end up in some hotel bowl in december.

Re: College Football Week 1, 2017.

I don't really follow College Football that closely, but have there always been this many games at neutral sites in the regular season? If I were the "home team," I would be pissed to not play with the full home team advantage in my own stadium.
