Was disappointed Leicester couldn't get the win at the Emirates today.

Entertaining match though.

Weird feeling heading into tomorrow's match, with all the Phil stuff going on. He's not in the lineup, due to an "injury".

Whatever do you mean? It has been a great, wonderful last three months or so.

To top it off, FourFourTwo will no longer be using StatZone, which is now without a home.

Thanks, by the way.

Not a great start.

Still can't defend corners worth a damn.

Thought Mo had the winner.

But of course, defending.

Have to be better Tuesday in Germany.

Rooney! Everton wins 1-0! (Only one goal scored though - the first three matches that were on US TV had seven - six - five goals scored! LOL!)

Congrats to Burnley on the upset win! 3-2 over Chelsea!
Congrats to Hudderstown Field on their first Premier League win! - 3-0 win over Crystal Palace!

Another upset brewing featuring a promoted club? Manchester City is tied at the half - 0-0 - with promoted side Brighton & Hove Albion.

Update - Upset bid lasts 70 minutes - Aguero scores - own goal follows five minutes later - Manchester City leads 2-0 late second half.

Hopefully no upsets on Sunday - wins by my team - Manchester United and my cousins kids team - Tottenham!

Neymar with a goal and an assist in his debut today.

Ronaldo sent off in the Super Cup for his second yellow. First was for his goal celebration, then shortly after for diving.

Real won despite that, 3-1.

Five games for Ronaldo for shoving the ref after his second yellow.

Re: The all-inclusive 2017-18 football/futbal/fußball/voetbal/calcio/soccer thread

Suarez was a dive should have been no PK

Ronaldo - idiot for taking off his shirt (hate that rule anyway). Was not a dive was not a foul it was a play on - stupid call. Even dumber move from Ronaldo shoving the ref. I know you are mad and it was a BS call but you know you can't do this crap.

Barca - good grief where do I begin. We still can't defend. I thought Messi was really good yesterday but couldn't get into a spot to finish and when he did he couldn't. Vidal and Delofeu couldn't make a good cross if there was no one on the field and the picked up the ball and ran it by hand to the spot it needed to go to. I like Delofeu but he is to hesitant on his decision making and looks like a scared puppy out there. Vidal -- well no comment. RB has been an issue since Alves left and I wasn't his biggest fan anyway but the guy could cross better than anyone else in that spot. LB IMHO is an issue as well. Alba has always been good going forward and his pace always saved his a$$ on D but he does not have the same pace he used too and his 1v1 needs some serious help. Yes he saved a goal yesterday.

Defensive issues began in MF plain and simple. While I didn't think Pique and Umtitti were bad they cannot do it by themselves.

Offensively we were hideous. We couldn't finish if the goal was 200 feet wide and 200 feet tall.

Barca are in desperation mode now and will pay huge for Coutinho (at least 150m) and Dembele (at least 120 mil) and I am not exactly convinced this will solve things. Dembele on the wing will certainly put some much needed pressure on defenses lets just hope he can get the ball in the box and Suarez and Messi can finish their chances. Paulinho coming in should give them some much needed bite in MF as we need an enforcer/work horse in the middle. We don't have that now. Hell I would almost rather see Masche in MF crushing people than Iniesta and that is so painful for me to say as the Don is my favorite player but sadly he has lost several steps and more unfortunate is that his passing is off now - sad.

LP - I refuse to comment on their bungling ineptitude that they call defense. Klopp is an arrogant jackass who has been saying all off season that they are good on D and are set for the season. I friggin' moron you couldn't defend last year and you can't this year with the same damn people. Get your head out of your ass!

OT for my teams but either Bale or Benz need to go. There should be ZERO discussion about Isco starting. He starts period. The guy has been amazing and makes this team go. Bale seemed lost and disinterested all game long. I don't think he cares anymore. Benz well what did he accomplish yesterday ... nothing. More and more both of these players seem to no longer fit it and RM. Isco should be on the field, along with Modric (will be once back from suspension of course) and Kroos. Of course Ronaldo will be there and frankly Asencio has shown he deserves his crack. So I say bench Benz and Bale and let Asencio play ans Isco .. of course Ronaldo will be out there after his suspension.
