The Royals are in Seattle this week, I hope they can keep winning.

Another fine performance by the Orioles Wade Miley. 1 2/3 innings 7 ER 67 pitches thrown.

Over at Orioles Hangout-Roy Firestone just said-"I think he should be released. We can get any AA pitcher to give up 7 runs in less than 2 innings".

Hey look, I realize that there's the "Human Element" in baseball umpiring and strike zones can fluctuate, but Clayton Kershaw barely made it out of the Seventh unscathed after this doozy : With a man on First, two outs and two strikes, check out this called "Ball" on the fourth pitch. I had to screenshot it because it was so egregious. Of course the batter hit a single on the next pitch and set up First & Third before Kershaw got his fourth third out.

I don't know how accurate those ESPN gamecast zones are, so I never know how to judge a call based on them.

Happy the Dodgers pulled it out, looked like they almost blew it.

Orioles get Zach Britton back today from the DL. Doubt if he comes back as their closer since that is the least of their current pitching problems.

Kershaw lost his no-hitter because Bellinger overplayed a ground ball to second and wasn't able to cover first.

It's happened before, Bellinger has a lot of range for first.

The juiced balls this year are starting to be blamed for some pitchers' blister injuries. Apparently MLB has changed the seams on the ball, reducing their drag when hit in the air.

That is why we are getting all these 450+ feet homers.

I saw this on ESPN.com :
We'll leave you with this doozy that a colleague procured from the Elias Sports Bureau: In the past 100 years, only two left-handed starters have begun a season 10-0 with a sub-2.00 ERA -- Wood and 1978 Yankees starter Ron Guidry, who finished 25-3 with a 1.74 ERA.

Wood had nice stretches with the Braves as well. They just didn't think he could stay healthy with those mechanics.

Yeah, really hoping he's named to the All Star team. Would be a huge disappointment if he isn't.

After today I think the Cubs might finally realize they can't mail it in if they want to make the playoffs this year.

Thanks Nice sweep, can't believe just a couple weeks ago the NL West was so close. Happy to see a 5.5 and 8.5 game lead now over the DBacks and Rockies

I hadn't caught that yet. Guess he is taking Kershaw's spot. Six Dodgers in the same All-Star line-up and a chance at 60 wins before the break? Never thought I'd see the day.

He threw 53 pitches and didn't last through the 1st!

Maddon should have removed him after he walked Harrison and threw over 40 pitches.

Re: 2017 MLB Week 14 July 3-9 "Independence Day Edition"

Dodgers just the fourth team in 40 years and the first since the 2003 Braves to have 60 wins at the ASB. A win today will give them a record Run Differential at the ASB as well.
They are for real.
