Bellinger easy. I'm an Angels fan but he's the closest thing to Mike Trout in my opinion.

I went with Seager. He's bringing it now and he did it last year too. As great as Bellinger has been it's only been 50-something games and when you see that much power that fast you're just waiting for the other shoe to drop. What Seager brings to the table I can see him doing for years.

I voted for Seager since he has the perfect build for a long, productive Major League career and over a year of consistency already. But man is Bellinger having a great Rookie season.
It's kind of amazing that the Dodgers have this many good-to-great young players without having any top 10 draft picks acquired after a terrible season the way that Washington, Houston and the Cubs acquired some of their young stars.

BTW : Urias is going to miss 12-14 months after having anterior capsule shoulder surgery on this throwing arm. It's normally an overuse injury that older pitchers can need. It's weird and almost unprecedented for a young pitcher with a strict pitch limit to get. Hope that doesn't mean that he will be plagued with injuries or maybe not as good when he comes back. It sure doesn't bode well for his future.

Bellinger is the real deal. Until seeing Bellinger swing, I never had any idea how Ted Williams generated so much power.

He'll never hit .400 or even .330, but Bellinger's build and swing are very close to Ted Williams. He has a beautiful bat path through the zone. I think the only thing stopping him from hitting 50 homers this year is Dodgers stadium. He still mostly has warning track power to the opposite field.

It also speaks to the volitality of pitching prospects. It's not a bad idea to trade them while their value is at the highest.

The guy is barely hitting .275 and he's getting compared to Ted Williams? His stats aren't nearly that eye popping after the home runs. OBP under .350 and despite playing in only 57, he leads the teams in K's.

He's been great and I do see a bright future but Ted Williams? Mike Trout? Let's pump the brakes a little.

I said closest thing lol. But Trout struck out a lot in the beginning, too.

And yeah, maybe it's premature. Puig was on a tear his first year. Now he's just another weapon.

And I didn't think the Angels would be the ones to end the streak. Especially with Homerlasco pitching.

to Dodgers losing and Dbacks winning. I think the Rockies are finally coming back down to earth. Their pitching has vastly overachieved, with all the rookies they have. Still are a deadly offensive team, but they won't really be shutting teams down with their pen or starters any longer.

Anthony Young, owner of the longest losing streak in baseball (27) died today of a brain tumor

I don't know why, but I was fascinated that he lasted long enough to even lose that many in a row. RIP.

It's like the 1980's in Washington today. The Nats have 7 stolen bases through 4 innings.

28th come back wins for Dbacks. Win in extras. Sloppy game defensively but they pulled it out.

I recall it being a somewhat of a fluke that he lost that many decisions in a row. He wasn't nearly as horrible as his record indicated. Sad news, regardless.

Sigh. I'm sure fans of both teams knew how this was going to turn out. Cards get another great start from Carlos Martinez. Play reasonably well only to see the bullpen collapse.

I've watched a few Cubs games lately for the first time this season. If I didn't know anything about last season, I would say there is no way this team is making the playoffs. They play sloppy ball and their pitching has taken a huge step back.

Yeah, sad, and he was pretty decent. You know what they say about having to be good to keep getting thrown out there.

Yeah, Lester has been the only consistent starter, the defense has regressed, and the situational hitting and record against RHPs have been terrible. Maybe you can attribute some of the latter to Zobrist and (cough) Heyward being out and Schwarber sucking. They'd be completely out of it if not for the bad division.

Surprising news about Montero, as I thought he was playing pretty well part-time, and I'm not aware of obvious minor-league alternatives. And it's not like Jake is a long-term cornerstone they'd want to protect.

It's funny because it's true. The Nats are almost certainly looking to get relievers at the trade deadline.

Nats bullpen is a trainwreck.

I'd say the O's should deal Britton to them but with their TV squabble and FUquette thinking the O's have a chance this year, fat chance of that. It would be a perfect trade fit otherwise.

The Nats will still win the weak NL East but losing Trea Turner is a huge blow to their chances in the playoffs. Fun player, it's a shame he got hit.
