Re: 2017 MLB Week 12 June 19-25

The game's pace of play would be perfectly fine if batters weren't allowed to step out after every pitch.

It has become gamesmanship between hitter and pitcher that should have been stopped years ago.

The only pitchers with pacing problems are almost always third-rate relievers that need every second to "rub" the ball between pitches.

Orioles(back to playing MLB competition) are losing to Cleveland 11-0 in the 6th inning. They will miss JJ Hardy's leadership(and his. 200 batting average) as he goes on the DL with a broken wrist.

Umm, that's some impressive company -- one Hall of Famer and two future Hall of Famers

Here are the top 6 home run leaders...if someone would have said before spring training that these would be the leaders at this point of the season I would have rolled my eyes and laughed

Judge, A
Bellinger, C
Morrison, L
Smoak, J
Springer, G
Thames, E

Especially after seeing Morrison and Smoak put up replacement-level numbers in Seattle.

Re: 2017 MLB Week 12 June 19-25

Thanks GM Dan Duquette for doing nothing too improve the Orioles starting pitching.

According to Orioles Hangout Publisher Tony-OH-the Orioles have given up 5 or more runs in 16 straight games and according to Baseballreference.com, that has never been done before in the AL and/or the past 104 years.

Correction(maybe): A fan wrote in the comments selection at MASN.com that the Phillies hold the MLB record with 20 games and that was in 1924.

I dunno--I think there are a number of third-rate starters who also take forever to pitch.

...and Ace reliefer Craig Kimbrel. How long does he delay before throwing a pitch? If everyone pitched like him the games would last until Doom's Day.

Logan Morrison has never shown this level of ability. It's one of those freak mid-career breakout seasons that occasionally happens. It also wouldn't surprise me if he never sniffs this level of production again.

I believe Smoak is in a free agent walk year. There are always a couple of players hitting free agency that have monster seasons out of nowhere.

Orioles gave up 5 runs again tonight(they won 6-5) as they close in on the MLB record for most consecutive games giving up 5 or more runs. It's hard to believe the 1962 Mets(40-120) would not be part of that record.

It has gotten way too easy to hit a homer. MLB seems to have juiced the ball beyond reason this season.

I've noticed whenever anyone brings the ball getting juiced up on MLB Network, the host quickly changes the topic.

That's one thing about the O's. Not that it's huge, but they had an advantage bashing the ball the last half-decade. Now everyone else has caught up (for whatever reason) and it's exposed their glaring holes, namely starting pitching. It was never great, but Duquette putting his eggs all into a basket thinking that Tillman and Jimenez would be fine this year given that they are in contract years was beyond stupid.

Now will Duquette realize that this team, even if they could somehow get into a wild card game (which I sure don't see), cannot win a playoff series. So as such, do the right the thing, and sell sell sell and not cripple the franchise for the next decade. I'm doubtful.

The O's are in a tough spot because their farm system is never that good. I would probably trade Manny for 2-3 top prospects because I think he's walking after free agency.

That's one of many moves they should make and everyone knows he won't be an O after next year. Unfortunately, he's sucked this year.

Britton is the key one. Need to get him back after the break, hope he pitches well and sell him for a ransom to the Nats.

But I don't see any of this happening because of the fool's gold of the 2nd wild card.

Wow, Kyle Schwarber sent to AAA. He's been terrible this year but I figured they'd stick with him.

Probably just as well .. other guys are hitting, and unlike Heyward last year he cannot make up for anything with his glove.

Hopefully he will not be down long

Right, he's negative value if he isn't hitting.
