Voted for the Giants

Hope I didn't just reverse-jinx them.

Re: 2017 MLB Week 7 May 15-21

With the 2nd wild card, it's hard to say that any team is flat out done.

But I went ahead and said that for four teams anyway.

Giants and Royals have fallen too far behind the pack and while they have time to make up the games, I don't think they're good enough to do it.

I'm a little more confident in the Pirates but I think the Cards and Brewers are for real and it'll be hard for them to leap frog them. Plus the Cubs are still there.

Over the last few years, it seems that the Mariners are the sexy pick to make a playoff run. It never materializes and their start to the season doesn't seem like this will be the year they do it.

I didn't vote for the Mets, Blue Jays or Rangers. I think all three teams have enough talent that if they can put together one solid month, they'll be squarely in the wild card picture at the end of the season.

No way you can count out the Cubs yet.

I'm thinking of going to the Mets-Cubs game when I'm in NYC. Has anyone gone to Citi Field? Is it an easy-enough subway ride from Times Square? How early should I leave, considering it will be at Rush Hour basically?

I don't go to Citi Field much but it's really easy from Times Square. Just hop the 7 train and it'll take you right there. Make sure to take the Express. You'll know it's the Express because the "7" that's written on the train will have a diamond around it instead of a circle.

I believe it's about 30 minutes on the train. I'd leave 45 minutes before you want to get there.

The Mets are done, you can stick a fork in them. The Nats will win that division going away and the Mets' injuries affect too many critical parts of their roster. Matt Harvey Dark Knight is not coming back this year. He may not be himself until next year.

Pimping a home run down 4 in the 8th is such a Bautista move. The team has been a big disappointment and he's batting under .200. No wonder no one wanted him this offseason.

I was totally on board with Bautista's playoff bat flip because of the circumstances. But know your spots.

Thanks to Orioles SP Ubaldo Jimenez, the Tigers Tyler Collins was the first player since 1913 to be in an 0-30 slump only to hit 2 or more homers in the same game.

How else I am supposed to know the pitcher with the smallest shoe size who drank 3 or more Cokes and had gotten a full body wax after April 6th with the lowest ERA in night games played on a Tuesday before the All-Star break

That was on the Tiger TV broadcast today.

No way in Hell does MASN(Orioles Network) would ever show anything negative in graphics about the Orioles.

One of the only things the Braves really have going for them this year is Freddie Freeman and now he's out for 10 weeks with a fractured wrist after a HBP.

Re: 2017 MLB Week 7 May 15-21

That is really too bad .. I feel sorry for guys who are good players that play on crap teams for the most part .. as I am watching Joey Votto come to the plate for the Reds.

But I imagine this gives Howard a chance to show if he has anything left ... though I doubt he does

Braves have reached a deal with James Loney.

Mighty big shoes to fill. Freeman was off to a terrific start.

You mean to tell me that it's not a good time to flip your bat when the score is 8-4 against your team?

The Blue Jays have been painful to watch and cheer this season. It's easy to see why so many players and teams dislike Bautista and Pillar really messed up by uttering the offensive word. I hope that he learns from this mistake because it's very unlike him to do that and he's been having a great season so far...

Who would have seen that with their deep starting pitching line-up that Alex Wood would end up being the Dodgers' legit #2 starter? He's 5-0 with a 1.88 ERA and a 20-consecutive scoreless inning streak.
