Forget all that. What, besides KP who the Knicks deem untouchable, do the Knicks have to deal that would even come close to 50 cents on the dollar in return for Kyrie?
If there's no workable trade for the Knicks - - and there's not - - why even consider the fit?

Never underestimate the appeal for fame and spotlight? NY is always going to be some sort of appealing destination for players.

Well it would involve a third team, which is basically what a trade to any of these teams would involve. Plus, something surrounding Melo (who makes more then Kyrie, so the difficulty is as much on the Cavs side to find matching salaries) isn't outrageous given the Cavs had flirted with a Love for Melo trade before.

Lakers 2nd round pick Thomas Bryant agrees to a 1-year guaranteed deal plus an option year.

Looks like he locked up a roster spot, but we'll see if he gets any significant playing time in Luke's system.

Love for Melo makes some sense. Love and Melo makes no basketball sense. Plus Melo for Kyrie is not a good trade for the Cavs, either from a talent or salary standpoint. If the Cavs are okay with a pupu platter, they can get a 3-team deal done. If they want a star back, they will have to trade him to the Celtics (and I doubt they want to do that) or to the T-Wolves (I don't think Wiggins is as untouchable as you guys do -- if not for the new Teague deal and all the salary owed as a result, I would do that deal in a heartbeat).

yes, but it is New York. And he would be The Man there.

He will not win as much, or much at all, but he will make millions.

I'm just saying the Cavs have/had a general interest for Melo, especially since Melo and Lebron are friends. Team balance obviously wouldn't work with Lebron/Melo/Love. Regardless, I certainly think there's an avenue for the Knicks to get Kyrie someway, somehow, that I wouldn't outright dismiss it.

thats what almost happened a few years back but Sacto put together cash for a new arena (i can see it from my window, lol) and new owner while Seattle kind of balked so the Kings stayed.

The Blue/Ball backcourt is still in play....and will be unless there is a release (of Vander).

Speaking of MVPs, besides the ageless Dirk and newly crowned Westbrook, every MVP still playing in the league plays for the Warriors or Cavs.

Clippers' Danilo Gallinari punches opponent, resulting in thumb injury

I think Gallo is going to fit in with the Clippers just swimmingly!

That's fine. I'm sure once Kyrie signs with the Cavs again in 3 years all will magically be forgotten.

something smells fishy. Intent to sell? Pot? For a guy who makes millions? In a state that pot is legal?

Re: 2017 NBA Off-Season Thread

It's probably just the amount he had was significant (2 lbs). But then there's this from 2010:

http://nba.nbcsports.com/2010/05/26/...-indianapolis/

Also recreational use in CA is not yet legal.

I'm no California marijuana law expert, but I don't think you're correct. Recreational stores are not yet legal, but the weed itself is, AFAIK. But yes, 2 lbs (that wasn't reported initially) is over the limit.

Ah, ok, you're right it's the stores that are not legal yet. Though if there are no recreational stores...

Re: 2017 NBA Off-Season Thread

Yeah, that came out yesterday. Cleveland needs to quickly make up with Kyrie, go for a title however they can this year, then rebuild around Kyrie (which won't work but Kyrie will have his team and will at least be a draw).

The answer is simple. Trade Lebron.
