I hope the Royals can do better this week, but the media is starting to voice its opinion that the bullpen might be a problem this year. I saw this mural downtown this weekend and thought it was cool enough for a picture, much better than the gang graffiti that was likely there before it.

This just in: The Cardinals and their bullpen still suck.

That's the truth. I had confidence in the pen going into the season. Only 1 week later and everyone looks pathetic. The only bright side is that Rosenthal showed no signs of rust. He was terrific.

As a Dodger fan, I must confess that the first week highlights for me were watching the Giants blow leads.

Orioles need starting pitching. They need relief pitching. They don't need anymore outfielders. So today the Orioles re-signed OF Michael Bourn.

Re: 2017 MLB Week 2 Apr. 10-16

Dodgers/Cubs last night used a combined 12 pitchers in a 3-2 9 inning game. No wonder Rob Manfred wants to change the usage of relief pitcher rule (possibly face more than one batter).

So unless Oh was a complete fluke who people figured out over the offseason, I'd guess that those guys will be fine based on track record. Of course we've seen relievers completely fall off a cliff before, so who knows.

Encarnacion not exactly earning that contract today. He's hit into two inning ending double plays today, the last one with the bases loaded in the 8th.

2016 World Series opponents Indians and Cubs each walked off in their home openers. Per the Elias Sports Bureau, this is just the 2nd time in MLB history that the reigning pennant winners each walked off in their home openers. The White Sox and Dodgers, who met in 1959 World Series, each walked off in their home openers in 1960.

Orioles give Ubaldo Jimenez a 9-0 lead and he still can't get the win He was yanked in the 5th inning.

A couple great catches by Albert Almora yesterday. Given the Cubs' emphasis on defense, I expect he'll get the majority of playing time as the season goes on.

The Blue Jays are off to their worst start. They can't seem to get it together yet.

Someone needs to explain the concept of tanking to the White Sox. Hopefully Davis Robertson keeps pitching like he has been.

O's did a great job to tie it in the 9th with a rare manufactured run (Asher was a great call up) and the Jays settle it right away in 9th with a bomb. Damn.

Who is the new Dodgers tv guy?

I just turned on the game and hear him.

He sounds older than Skully ever did.
I think he was trying to tell a Vin Skully type story too last inning
and just came across as boring.

Thought that Steiner was going to take over.

The Cards and Jays square off later this month (25th-27th). Both teams can't lose the series!

I'm shocked the Pirates took the first 2 in the series from the Cubs. I still don't think this team will hit for enough power but I'm happy with the results of the weekend.

Don't worry. The way the Blue Jays are playing, the O's will do fine today.

It has been brutal watching them play especially hitting.

The new guy is Joe Davis, age 29.

The Pirates have played well. I hope the Cubs can salvage the last game, but I think they'll be fine in the long run.

Re: 2017 MLB Week 2 Apr. 10-16

Does anyone know why the Orioles don't send Trey Mancini back to the minors? He doesn't hit his homer's far enough.

They need to carry 13 pitchers. That's more important. Bench players are a dime a dozen but reliefers with lifetime ERA's of 6.00 and a WHIP of 2.00 don't come by often.
