No OT this time.

Caps even it up at 2 games all.

Told you it wasn't over.

Caps barely hang on.

Not that any of this matters. They can't beat the Pens or the 2nd round even if they survive this series.

Re: 2017 NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs

Bruins go down again in another one-goal game.

After the cup win in 2011, I thought the Bruins had really turned their franchise around, like the Red Sox and Patriots did. I thought they'd be almost perennial contenders for a good stretch. Nope, they're the same old Bruins.

Re: 2017 NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs

Wow, the Wild came to play tonight. The Blues.... did not.

Going back to the 3rd period of Game 3, and it's like there's no fire at all in St. Louis' belly. Feels a LOT like the last two games of last year's WCF against the Sharks.

Re: 2017 NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs

Blackhawks looked old and asleep for most of the series and were clearly outplayed.

Will be interested to see how Rinne's numbers hold up when they play a team that generated offensive chances.

Re: 2017 NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs

It's a bummer when your team goes down (as the Bruins are in the process of), but man, NHL playoffs are exciting and totally unpredictable.

Sharks blow 3-1 lead then finally lose in OT. They were totally dominated in the extra period. Blah.

Re: 2017 NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs

I was thinking the same thing as the last article. I really don't know WTF happened to this team.

I mean they had a great run but that window has to be closing now.

That said, I don't see the Preds or Blues winning the cup. Rinne will be gotten to for sure.

End of an era ? No. Toews and Kane are 28. They just got a bit lazy. They need to stop with resting players right before the playoffs start. Keep the intensity up.

I'm thinking more about the aging elite defense. If Keith is fading and Seabrrook isn't very good, they've got big problems there. Their offense is still going to be formidable for a while if guys like Panarin stick around. But defense will win them games.

Re: 2017 NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs

Yeah, the D was really slow ... Keith is not what he was .. though he is still good. Hammer is rock solid .. the rest is iffy. They are stuck with Seabrook because of his contract, but they need to bite the bullet and start playing some of the younger guys and find enough cap space (hope Kruger gets picked in the expansion draft or trade him and hope the Canadian $ makes up some ground on the USD) and find a way to bring in a reasonably young guy who can be a top 4 d-man ... which will not be easy.

Cheap shot on Ovechkin. He doesn't look good.

At least they score on the PP.
