Re: 2017 MLB Week 1 Apr. 2-9 "Opening Day Edition"

As a Braves' fan I wasn't impressed by the new stadium during yesterday's spring training broadcast. It's a fairly generic, cookie-cutter field with a lame waterfall in the centerfield area. The amenities for the fans look nice.

I will have to get used to seeing a brick wall behind home plate.

I miss tradition.

The weekday opener in Cincinnati to kick off the season.

The Cubs being horrible.

But I am excited the return of baseball and the threads here.

It was considered bad luck to play baseball before the traditional opener in Cincy..

I thought about making the poll

_ Cubs
_ The rest of the field
But then I figured everyone would take the field.

Rebuilding year for the White Sox. Looking forward to see how the young guys they received for Sale and Easton develop and the haul they get for Quintana.

I say Fuck You Jobu. The real opening day is Monday as it should be.

Go O's! Hope Tillman will be back before the end of the month and we get the 2016 August-September (not October) version of Jimenez this year. Hopefully, the prognosticators are wrong about them and Buck again.

Re: 2017 MLB Week 1 Apr. 2-9 "Opening Day Edition"

Giants always seem to open on the road, which I'm fine with since that means they get two opening days (road and home opener).

World Series bound! Maybe...

Going to the Dbacks game this afternoon. They'll probably lose in a blowout.

Bumgarner with #2, but his bullpen blows the lead.

Bumgarner on pace for about 70 homers this year, unless they put him in the regular lineup too

If Molina never played another game, he's a Hall of Famer, IMO. Eight Gold Gloves, dominated defensively like no other in his time. Thoughts?

I'd say Molina qualifies now. Not sure how good he's going to be at the end of this extension, though.

Schwarber still raking.

Cardinals play a flawless game for 8+ innings.

Then gift the Cubs a comeback.

Not dead yet!

The key was a signature Heyward rollover to the right side.

Not sure why they brought Oh in so early on opening night. But Contreras smoked that ball. Thought the Cubs were toast after not scoring in the 8th and then the HR in the bottom of the 8th

Hoping for extras

Cards in 1st. Cubs in last.

Last year was obviously a fluke.

A shame that Martinez was robbed of a win. He was fantastic.
